I suspect he sees this as a way to get one last crack at management eventually. When Hoddle's name is mentioned for a vacant post you almost always then get 'concerns that he has been out of football management for some time...' and the like. This role at QPR gets his foot back in the door.

Worked for Schteve in that he quickly got the Derby job.

Good to see him back working again. Wonder if he'll sit there looking like Ray Davies like he did at the World Cup.

Amazing that he'll actually be working for Redknapp rather than the other way round.

Hope it gets him back into management.

As long as he never works for Arsenal or West Ham, I'm happy for him to be in the PL.

My 5 yr old's middle name is Hoddle so I have a vested interest in what Hoddle does from now on! I can handle QPR...

hope it works out for him and he ends up back at Spurs in some capacity some day as he clearly loves the club so much.

Did I just hear that right on the radio or was it something else? I'm sure they said Glenn Hoddle has joined Harry Redknapp's backroom team at QPR. Google tells me I heard it right.

They had Steve Cotterill as we'll at some stage last year or the year before. Harry obviously likes to bring in random coaches for a few months for whatever reason.

Yes its on SSHQ. He is first team coach. Should make the visit to WHL interesting.

Its a good move by Harry to be fair. If QPR plan to be play 3-5-2 this season Glenn is a good person to help implement that formation.

Been reported the last days that QPR amongst others are going to give 352 a try this year, could be a reason bringing in someone like Hoddle who has always appeared to favour it as a setup.

Also, as said above, one of the ways for him to get back into football management is to be involved in football again on a day to day basis.

Think it's a good move for all parties.

I'm in Italy right now, and it seems as though about half of the teams in serie A are going to play 3-5-2 this season...so maybe Glenn was right all along 3-5-2 is the future!

Don't get me wrong with this, I loved Hoddle as a player. He was one of our all time greats and he's a Spurs boy through and through.

I have nothing against him, I like his astute punditry...

As wonderful and as magical a player he was, he was a walking disaster when placed in charge of us and nearly got us relegated. This was one of the great heart breaking tragedies of his life long association with us. I really hope he succeeds in getting QPR relegated this time around.

Hope he makes it good this time, and comes back to lead us to glory when Poch is poached by some bigger club.
