Many players who played under Glen have said that he almost seemed like he had to have the final "say" on the training ground. He would out-pass, out-cross, out-shoot the players he was supposed to be managing. He couldn't distance himself from the hollywood element. It belittled players who weren't up to his precise, intricate style of play.
Heard this before, but if a player is outplayed by his middle age manager, he should either up his game or accept he's just not as good as he thinks he is. Many mediocre players adored Hoddle, if a players got an attitude problem with an ego to match, is that Hoddles fault? Perhaps Hoddles problem was that he prefered to encourage players rather than disipline them, and some bigheads got comfortable, wheras a ferguson character would have given them a slap and told them that if they don't start sweating in training, they'll be off to sunderland!
