Coming up for West Ham on March 19th and looking for accomodation. My boss' mum manages an IBIS so can get plenty of discount, but I'm unsure of the areas that some of them are located in, and not knowing London at all I'm struggling, so please help.

Which of these would be the easiest for me to get to WHL on public transport? And are any of these a no-go area at all?

Leyton?

Stratford (not sure about this one...west ham territory...?)

Snaresbrook? (my preference due to right next to underground/rail links, plus closest to WHL)

Whetstone?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks heaps.

Ok, sorry to be dumb, but I've been to London once approx 15 years ago, what place names/areas are classed as West End?

laterooms.com

Put in a postcode or name of an area and it searches all hotels in that area.

You can then try tripadvisor.com to see how the hotel rates.

If you load up google maps, find white hart lane station and click on it it will bring up the route on the train, you can then aim for a hotel along the line somewhere if you wanted the easy option?

To be honest mate i'd stay clear of the places you listed (Whestone's fine but not easy to get to WHL from there).

The best thing to do would be to stay at a hotel near a Victoria line station for the tube, somewhere near these stations in particular:

Kings Cross
Euston
Warren Street
Oxford Circus (proper West End, loads of Hotels but might be expensive unless you can use your discount)
Green Park (near The Ritz if you fancy treating yourself!)
Victoria.

Hotels near any of these stations will give you easy access to Seven Sisters for matchday.

Alternatively you could find somewhere near Liverpool Street for access to the overhead train line.

I just did a quick search on the Ibis website and found this place which would be perfect and walkable to either Euston or Kings Cross St. Pancras: http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-0921-ibis-london-euston-st-pancras/index.shtml

If you need to stay in an Ibis and one that is easy to get to WHL but is not in a complete shithole, stay at the one at St Pancras.

It's still not the best area in London, but is up and coming, and is only a few stops up the Vic Line to WHL.

The Holtwhite's in Enfield is supposed to be pretty decent, and it's only a 15-minute walk to Enfield Town station and direct trains to WHL. Otherwise, if you can get a discount at Ibis, stay at the one on Euston Road.

Russell Square is though and only a few minutes walk south of St.Pancras...plus only 5 minutes from Covent garden and the west end.....Train straight to finsbury park and change to the vickky line from there..

Why not stay at the Ibis London City not far from the Liverpool Street Station? And take a train from the station to White Hart Lane.

Thats cracking, thanks heaps everyone.

The IBIS Euston St Pancras is £112 on match day, so I'll see what my boss can rustle up. Personally, I can see the game being moved from a 3pm ko for TV, so I'll get the tickets first, then worry about the hotel shortly after (hotel drops to £72 on the sunday!). But that location is spot on, and gives me plenty to work with, so thanks.

While those areas aren't the nicest in the world, he's not thinking of moving there, he's only going to be staying there the night! Probably safer than the west end.

If you get a flat-rate, I'd look at google maps, select the public transport tab, and look along the victoria line and see if there are any one close to a station or look at the branches around stations on the line from Liverpool street to WHL/Northumberland Park. That line also ends up in hertfordshire so you may want to look at that end of the line.

The problem with places you mention is they're mostly on the central line which would mean you'd have to take the tube to liverpool street anyway and take the train from there

Winchy gave me a good one from laterooms last w/e, De Veres Theobald park Hotel only £39!
A big beautifully set country hotel used for weddings etc free parking.

A short walk or taxi ride to Theobald Grove station 10 mins overground to WHL.
Ideal if you are driving, 2 mins from M25 jct 25.

Just remembered also saw a Premier Inn in Theobald Park area might be worth checking?

Gonna go with London City or Euston St Pancras IBIS', the discount is looking superb!

Just gotta pray for tickets now...and if the game is changed for TV, will that be confirmed before tickets go on sale?
