I wouldn't go as far as wanting Arnesen back, but if we could find someone as good as Comolli and one that would work for the team and not themselves them I'd be all for it. I may email Spurs my CV.

Comoli threw 100 million against the wall and some of it stuck.

Arsnesen seemed to be a little bit more thrifty. IMO, Spurs dragged ourselves out of middle table thanks to him. He started the whole ball moving. He got Jol as Santinis second, and Jol went on to take us to our highest position.

It's only talk anyway. No way HR will work under a DOF.

Very good I think. He's not a risk taker generally, but at all his clubs his ability to identify what shape the holes are and bring in the right shape pegs, has been as good as anybody's that I can think of.

I remain concerned by the change in our youth/young player recruitment policy that has been affected by the change in structure. When we had DOF's it felt like we had become one of the best at spotting, buying and developing young talent. Unless someone knows something I don't, it definitely appears that our policy has gone down a few notches in intensity.

Does Harry lack imagination in the transfer market?

Or maybe foresight is the right word. You see, just looking at this football tips article about our supposed £30 million bid for Andy Carroll suddenly made me think "we could have got him for a tenth of that not so long ago". He showed promise when Newcastle were relegated (remember he scored a great header against Stoke, never easy). If we've moved then, we could have probably got him for £3 million or so and very little fuss, because he wasn't established. Could even have loaned him back to them for the season.

I suppose what I'm asking is does our transfer scheme currently focus too much on paying big money for established names?

I'm afraid so. Doesn't seem to have much knowledge outside of England or players he's had at previous clubs.
