Yeah, I am getting a little frustrated with the attitude that we can't beat Barca. Sure, if I had to put money on it and would not bet comfortably that we will be run away winners, but at the same time to act like we don't even have a chance is just plain wrong. The scum beat them in their first leg so clearly it is possible to get a result against them and, furthermore, we have come through against both Milans - who would have thought that 6 months ago?

Naw, we can beat Barca. The only thing in our way is the Utd jinx. Beat that and we can win against any of the remaining sides.

Fulham put Shakhtar out of the Europa League last season, and the season before our scratch team of kids and fringe players gave them a very tough game at the Lane.

What separates us from United is less quality than belief. They believe they can always beat us, we don't seem to believe we can beat them.

yeah cant believe everyone's scared of them. quite a lot of luck against Roma according to the reports. Avoid Barca and Manure, Chelski I think we can handle. Schalke looks the weakest side.

If we assume how next week's games will play out then the last 8 should be......

Spurs
Schalke
Shakhtar
Barca
Chelsea
Man Utd
Bayern
Real Madrid

Based on that, I would probably prefer not to have to go to Shakhtar, they are serious dark horses and have been playing great, full of skill and swagger but still somewhat unknown.

Chances are that we are going to draw an english team in either the Qtrs or Semi's (what with them being done at the same time) so I'd like to get Utd rather than Chelsea. We always out play Man Utd and quite frankly they are long overdue a hiding from us.

For the Qtrs though I would want to face either Schalke or Bayern. Mainly because they would be the easiest to gameplan for. Don't get me wrong though, whichever way it goes it's gonna be mighty tough but more importantly, none of these teams will want to face US, I guarantee that.

For pure glory tie, I hope we draw Barca. There would be zero expectation, the ties would be brilliant to watch and there's no reason why we couldn't beat them.

I'd like us to draw Real. We don't play well when we are favourites but seem to raise our game when underdogs. I think Real are beatable and would be another great scalp to take. Not exactly a disgrace if we lose either.

Yep I believe they are 2 legs .

I'm with the 'anybody but Barca' camp...they reside on another planet .
Then no Utd please..after that I'm cool with whoever .

I'd like Barcelona in the next round please. Failing that Real Madrid. I want to go out all guns blazing against the best there is!

Don't care who get.

WHY?...
.
We are capable of winning or losing to anyone...

I am so proud of our boys that we can't lose, even if we go out!

This has been an amazing journey so far, and i think no one will want to play us, not even Barca, they use the full-backs so much, with Bale and Azza against them, they won't be able to bomb forward....Messi,xavi etc is another story....

Anyway ...today lets enjoy and worry later...COOOOOOOOOOOOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loved the thread lads, but one thing which is brilliant is who ever we get we wont get an English Referee, which gives us a fighting chance against any of the English sides!

I think Swissh! refs might be a problem. You have to WATCH them!

I agree completely, the same reason I wanted AC Milan in the last round.

Real Madrid would be perfect, more beatable than Barca but with all the glamour and fun.

Am I the only one who thinks we've got a shot at beating United over two legs with impartial, non-English (Webb and Clattenburg, I'm looking at you here!) referees?

Exciting as fuck! A week tomorrow can't come around fast enough, awesome! COYS!

I agree with you totally, why do you think Utd have only won 2 European Cups in 20 attempts ;)

Totally agree. Saw us beat Milan at the San Siro, could you imagine beating Barca at the Nou Camp, especially after they knocked out the scum?
And on the other hand, I'd prefer to be knocked out by them than anyone else.
Save Real for the semi-final.

I want us to have a possibility to reach the semi-final. That means no Barca for me.

I want to avoid Madrid. Jose will slaughter Harry when it comes to tactics. He knows the English teams inside out. Considering how naive we still are, we will get killed.

Nothing to do with the squad full of experienced world class players they have?

I'd love to see us against Madrid.

I'd like us to play against Manu because I'm fed up of us under performing against them and would like us to put the record straight.
We really shouldn't fear them and it would be interesting to play them with a ref from outside the premiership.
I really do think we have the beating of them but I've thought that for a couple of years.
