The question is this: What are the minimum number of points a team would need this season to be certain of finishing 4th? For example you may think we can finish 4th with 65 points but you believe that any team that can get 68 points can almost guarentee 4th. In which case you vote 68 rather than 65

Then post to say what you estimated and whether or not spurs can achieve that.

I will be shocked if any team finishes lower than 4th if they get 71 points this season. Your turn...

For reference the most recent points requirement has been 72,76,68,67,61,60 and 67. That said I doubt it'll help you decide

Tottenham v Blackburn WIN
Stoke v Tottenham DRAW
Tottenham v Portsmouth WIN
Sunderland v Tottenham DRAW
Tottenham v Arsenal WIN
Tottenham v Chelsea DRAW
Man Utd v Tottenham LOSS
Tottenham v Bolton WIN
Burnley v Tottenham WIN

Well, there's our fixtures and our results in advance. Seems we're finishing on 67 points - I thought it'd be more :-( As I refuse to believe we wont do it, 67 points is your answer :-D (even though I've already voted 69  ).

Edit: Just realised there's so City game there! We'll shock 'em with a cheeky 2-1 win and take 4th with a cheeky 71 points. Woo! :hump:

I'm not sure any of the 4th place contenders are consistent enough to get over 70 points. Went for 68 myself.

i think City will get 63 points and Villa 61...

but i give Liverpool (a generous) 66 points, so how many can we get... ( i calculate 67 with 2 points from the three toughest...)

we do have some winnable games

my result predictions for us are;
Blackburn W
Stoke D
Pompey W
Sund' W
if we could fashion a win in one of these next three then great
Arse D
Che D
MU L
Bol W
Burn W

just realised the city game isn't on the bbc predictor but seeing as i have City 4 points behind us, that one doesn't matter :hump:

Just so there's no confusion, I'm not asking how many points we'll get but how many points it'll take to be absolutely sure of 4th. So, Theshiznit, would you say that 68 points would be enough to guarentee 4th?

He did say it was cheeky. Perhaps no one will realise we've got an extra point from somewhere. Wonder if the BBC or someone could add an extra point to the table and get everyone to copy it and fool everyone into believing it was right. Wonder if anyone would pick up on it.

There are too many variables to give an answer so one has to speculate. It could take anywhere between 60 and 75 points, but the amount is the one that takes a club closest to 3rd place. There has to be an element of prediction of the clubs in contention in order to get an approximate figure.

79 then.... a wi in every game is the only way to be sure of getting enough points to try and get 4th, and even then if Man City win all theres its not good enough (though we have to play them so someone has to lose)

70 pts for me. if that is going to be us then that means we have to get 21pts from our remaining 30 left i.e. win 7 out of our remaining 10 games or win 6 and draw 3.
