35 million plus Berbatov for Bale would get me

but Modric no chance.

If Bale were ever made available for sale I would hope we would take only a pure cash deal at way more than £35m + Berba would be worth and have our own choice of striker. Berba would smash our wage structure and he's not worth doing that anymore.

Same with if we ever choose to sell Luka - cash only or GTFO.

Get the cash in and spend it on someone young, hungry to succeed and who wouldn't cost us the earth every week.

Considering how much stronger Liverpool became as a result of selling Torres and replacing him with two good players. It really wouldn't be the end of the world if we sold Bale for a fantasy figure and could get in several players we actually need.

I'm not saying I want it to happen.

Selling Modric would be the end of the world. He is our most important player and there is no one we can possibly hope to get that could replace him.

Yeah I would agree, the point I was really getting at was if it were a choice between the two I would be more devestated with losing Modric than Bale.

Probably not making much sense, been in court all day and my head is spinning

In a hypothetical 'GunAgainstMyHeadOneOfBaleOrModricMustBeSold' - I'd sell Bale, that is how vital I believe Luka is.

Having said that, both under long contracts, both said happy to stay, so unless a club offer us the cash for a new stadium, like Matty suggest, they can go away.

It seems that it is easier to replace everyones than Modric.

Modric is our Xavi, he is really that important to us.

I can honestly see Barca coming after him before too long.

The Board has already stated that we are looking to build a higher capacity stadium as we are ambitious.

Its also been stated that we want to be regulars in the CL and continue rubbing shoulders with the biggest clubs in Europe. We can't do that if we keep selling our top players. Berbs was sold because he wanted to join Man Utd. Modric has openly stated that he is happy at the Lane and has (currently) no intentions of leaving. As long as DL is still the Chairman and that Modric has no desire to leave the club, then I think there is nothing to fret.

We are slowly building the club with Sandro being the latest top addition.
We've already had a taste of CL. Now we need to gradually, add one or two top players a season and get rid of the dross (I know that its easier said than done).

I have the faith.

well lets see if we can resist united this summer. not at all a secret that they are lodging bids in, and unsettling where they can.

what is it now, 35 million plus berbabitch.

I just hope harry and levy takes a very firm stand this time and tells fergie that you can have him straight swap for rooney and vidic, otherwise fack right off

Luka is the find of the century, we could make shitloads if we cashed in, but i believe him when he says he wants to stay, and i believe Harry and Levy that they will not sell him, well not next season, if we improve our squad and have a top 4 finish next season, these threads will not be appearing every other week, so its up to the club to make sure we kick on and thus ensure Luka will be in our colours for years to come.

Well I would consider an insane offer, and 35 million plus Berbatov would be pretty big.

Not saying I would do it for sure, but it would get me thinking.

I think Bale can only get better, that's why I think even £35mil + Berba isn't enough.

Man U will earn so much when Bale reaches his prime and they decide to sell like Ronaldo.

He's still learning plus I'm sure he'll be one of many who'll lead us to glory within 5 years.

Why is this even being given consideration? I don't think anyone here or in the club would start thinking how much to sell Modric for. Even if we were, I doubt any teams would match the sort of value (£50m odd?) that we are likely to put on him.

Unless he throws his toys out of the pram and puts in a transfer request, it's a non-starter.

I haven't bothered to read the thread but I'd say nothing as we shouldn't sell him unless he really wants to do one which seems not to be the case.
