How stressful has this season been for you?

I have always found it far more stressful watching on TV than when I'm at the games, so really it's only some of the big away games where I've found it a bit stressful.

The worst thing though is when it's not on TV and I'm just checking the score (and checking our rivals games). Or watching Soccer Saturday and hearing the pundits covering our games and our rivals games randomly shouting. That is not a good recipe for a heart condition.

Personally I've been more stressed before and after games, worrying about what a W, L or D does to our position and what the teams around us are doing in their games. But actually during our games I haven't been stressed at all (minus West Ham away), as we've very rarely been outplayed across the 90 minutes.

Different story for my Dad though. He had a heart attack back in October (same night as Anderlecht away, didn't find out until I got back the next day), survived and only missed a month or so of games before going home and away again. If anything has stressed me out this season, it's been him treating every game as if it's his last and getting right on one. I have to admit I do worry about what affect these last 4 games will have on him, especially if it goes to the wire! But I do think it might have been fate for him to survive the scare to see us win the league for the first time in his life time (he's only 53)! :)

Not so much stressed but the anticipation of 'what could be' kills me at times.

Each round of matches I know what we need to do and hope that Leicester fuck up. I'm happy and calm with this but then I've got my son, who can be a little obsessed, reminds me of what would happen if we did this and they did that and then between us we manage to wind each other up. We're a nightmare and I think we're doing my wifes head in.

She's already ecstatic that we're on TV all the way to the end of the season...imagine the tension on match days :D

If we were fighting with just man city or someone like Chelsea I would be enjoying it but to be fighting with Leicester there is stress that you feel will have to win it it wouldn't beat the stress fighting just with the scum :p

To be fair as seasons go this one has given me the least amount of stress.

Actually it's not as stressful as most seasons for me, I have a quiet confidence in our lads so I'm not really shitting it, but of course if Leicester lose to the Swans that all goes out the window and I'll be a mess during every game.

I'll get back to you suckers next time we are three or less points from Leicester, they slip up big time and we have a game in hand.
Have your prozac ready.
Nah I don't look at things like that.

I'm really opposed to any who would say not winning the title is somehow failure this year. 2nd is a massive accomplishment and I can't see how we at minimum don't achieve that now.

Leicester dropping points would excite me. It provides an opportunity, it energizes me knowing we've got a team that will do everything in their power to take that opportunity. Even if they failed to do so I'd know it had nothing to do with a lack of effort and at the end of the day that's all a fan can ask for.

I'm excited to watch the games, the football on display is exciting, brilliant, and entertaining. The table at the end of the season is mutually exclusive. If anyone moans about it then I seriously doubt they were actually watching the games.

It has been extremely stressful as it always is BUT over the last couple of weeks I have strangely become much calmer which I think is because I've come to realise that if we dont win the league this season I will still be delighted and proud of the team and very hopeful for the next few years. It is an odd feeling but I like it.

Least stressful and most enjoyable season I can remember. Had a pretty crappy 2015 and start to 2016 personally so Spurs doing this well has been a massive part of getting me through.

Having said that, now we're at the home straight and can conceivably win the title I'm starting to feel the stress.

On the whole though, 4th was the aim for me in August, so really all this is just one huge bonus to enjoy and thrive on.

Most unstressful season I remember

Totally agree.
Normally it's been a concern over is fighting for a Europa spot and whether or not we'll make it or screw up when we should capitalise.
This season has been the complete opposite. One game at a time, joy at watching the likes of United, Chelsea & Liverpool flounder while we continue to excel. Not even stressed about whether or not we will win the league.
Excitement - Yes
Stress - No

And I haven't felt this excited about Spurs in a long time.
After the result at Stoke I was having palpitations at the prospect of us closing the gap even more when I go to my first game of the season on Monday....

I thought we'd play better this season and challenge top four narrowly missing out. Competing and improving would have been enough for me. The way things have developed has been unreal so instead of being stressed I've just been massively excited and optimistic about what is to come.

Having a team full of young English players including many that have come through the academy has been the real kicker for me. That team AVB had just wasn't anything relating to spurs. No one cared about the club, no one took responsibility or even put in 50% effort. This team is everything that wasn't.

As long as we finish above Arse now I will be perfectly happy, a title would just be incredible!

It's the most stressful season in decades.

In the past, losing was horrible but familiar and even if it had dire consequences like being in a relegation battle, you always felt that things would improve. Just another win would change everything.

Now it's the other way round.

Now, I'm convinced that Spurs are the best team in the country, and I've never enjoyed a feeling like that. So any defeat or sign that we're not as good as I believe we are threatens to undermine everything. The idea of defeat has become unbearable. The whole idea that we're the best team in the country, the ultimate dream aside maybe from winning the CL (?) , it is under threat each time we play.

Maybe once we've won the title a couple more times that sense of vulnerability will fade, but at the moment, shit yes, it's stressful.

I'm convincing myself that I am enjoying it, I think I can just about cope as we are chasing so can't technically blow it. Yet.

We all know that it's the hope that hurts the most but it's got to be this way

Immediately prior to playing the West Ham/Arsenal matches, I was a wreck. Tapping my leg frantically at work, couldn't sleep, adrenaline running high. I loved every minute of it.

Stressful? God yes. But it's a different kind of stress to past years. I used to worry endlessly about positions that needed to be filled or about players leaving or the number of managers getting sacked, but now I can't think about anything else other than lifting the trophy. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with Champions League and the massive improvements we've made this year, but it's just so... so... close!
