Their training ground does look like a pub side's one though.

No fan of the Hudd as a player, but seeing that made me think two things

1. When we talk about loyalty, remember that any player is basically two bad years from Hull. It must be a bit of a shocker turning up there from our training ground.

2. The equality of the TV contract makes for a much better and stable league, and, in turn, makes it easier for us to move someone like Tom. Of course, getting a guaranteed ten million from Hull (guess), is part of the reason England ain't so great.

We shouldn't forget how big a part he played that season we finished 4th, he was a huge part of what to-date was our most successful Premier League season.

Amazing passing ability and he does deserve to play somewhere but we've moved on and it's right he does as well, he had a genuine love for the club and really hope he does well.

Always remember that ridiculous ping against Shaktar!

Goodbye Tom, thanks for the memories. I always though The Hudd was a good player but in the wrong era. If this was the 80s he'd have been awesome, but the modern game requires players good at everything and to have no faults and unfortunately he did have a few faults. In a way, I found him refreshing - he was old style in that respect, while a lot of modern players and teams I find quite boring. He had personality to his play, in the same way Hoddle did and lots of players in the 80s. It's a shame he didn't make it here. Ah well. Good luck Tommy.

I think so too. It isn't so much his lack of pace (once he gets up a head of steam he isn't really that slow) but his lack of agility and lack of acceleration that count against him in today's game. That's become increasingly apparent in a team that's got increasingly pacy over the past few seasons—he'd have been fine in Jol's 2005-2006 line-up—and injuries have hardly helped matters. But he's been a good servant, and did very well alongside Modric in 2009-10, a pairing which many thought was going to be disastrous. Good luck to him.

good luck big tom. did a job for us over the years, his passing ability was better than probably 95% of anyone in the league, just a shame for such a strong bloke he was a pansy at tackling and that ive seen milk turn quicker than him.

hope he does well at Hull and scores so he can get that barnet chopped!!

It's almost like a part of this club's identity over the past 10 years has been lost, the guy was practically part of the furniture. Superb technique and natural talent, he's too good for Hull IMO.

Thanks for everything Tom, all the best!
