.... would probably be my choice if for whatever reason we ever found ourselves needing a new keeper. I've seen him a few times now, and he does seem a class above to me.

Football Manager declaired him as a Wonderkid a few years ago, and Lyon saw enough to spend €8.5m on him. We apparently tried before we plumped for Gomes, but he decided to stay in France.

In my perfect World, Gomes would sign a new 10 year contract tomorrow, but life isn't perfect, and Lloris does seem to be the real deal.

Anyone here seen much of him?

Lloris would be out of our reach now unfortunately. Should have got in there before Lyon.

He's an outstanding young keeper - only 23 - and commands his box well and isn't afraid to come through crowds of players to gather the ball.

He doesn't look like he has any weakness in his game. Great at crosses, good at coming into crowds, looks a very good shot stopper, is quick and makes great decisions.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was VdS's successor at Man Yoo next season. If the price is right Lyon will always sell.

He was the only French player that came out of last night with any credit. I thought he was immense, coped with everything thrown at him with gusto. Looked an excellent player last night, and only 22.

That's what I was going to say. He was dreadful in that match, but it was a one off and I've been impressed with him in a few other games with Lyon and France.
