He's not done anything wrong per se. He looks rather dashing in his v neck sweater and designer stuble :cautious:

Its the football hipster wakers that massage his balls day in day out that makes me not like him. Has anyone notice how the hipsters call him 'Pep', like they know him personally?

"Oh no, I dont think 'Pep' would line up like that'. Peps philosphyis a high press, with a rapid transition from defense to offence focusing on the runs of an able trequartista overlaping the false nine, creating overload situations"

LoL I expect we will be hearing alot of this codswallop in the near future.

Right.... So is the issue people talking about football? Or is the issue people choosing to refer to him by his easy to spell three letter first name rather than his nine letter second name?

Either way, I don't see the problem.

I'd rather they said Pep, than Guardiola as though they were Spanish.

It appears to me that we're very much the team of choice for football hipsters, are we not?

The PL one anyway

So Ancelotti is taking over at Bayern and 'Pep' will go to any one of the sky 4 in the summer.

Now obviously I don't hate him, he's one of the best managers in the world. But it annoys me that he only stayed at Bayern for 2 years. What's the point? He didn't even win the CL (yet...). Now he'll go to another club that will give him 500m to spend and he'll win the league there. Why doesn't he go to a sleeping giant and win them something, that's the real challenge. Mourinho did it at Porto then took the easy route (though did brilliantly with it). That would prove the quality of a manager. If he came to us, or Liverpool or even West Ham and then won the league, he'd be thought of as the best (not that we'd want to get rid of Poch or Klopp etc). Where's the challenge of going to City or Chelsea or Utd where they always win things anyway. He went to Bayern after they won the treble! Go to Salford or Orient or something and really test your managerial skills!

Announced that he is leaving at the end of the season. The two boards in Manchester rush to their phones to see who can arrange their sacking quickest.

I don't think there is any other place he's want to go.

Inherited a team with messi inesta and xavi. Was at worts 50 percent chance of winning the league. Moved to bayern 99pc chance of winning the league. Wouldnt be suprised to see him bottle the pl and move to psg

That was the same point of view I had when LVG chose United over Spurs. He went on about taking on the challenge. Whilst it is turning out to be just that, I don't think he anticipated it would be quite so hard! Especially with the outlay.

A real challenge is doing what Ranieri and his predecessor have done with Leicester. Or turning West Brom into a title challenging team.

Someone like Pep G should buck the trend of taking over already successful teams. But I suppose that's a romantic notion and salary plays a massive part.

I do agree with this, and that managers should pick their 'projects' more carefully and there are bigger challenges to be had if they had the bottle. Some are just interested in winning though.

Guardiola did do his apprenticeship with Barca's B team which was failing. He restructured how it worked and developed players, stopped the rot and won promotion in his year there. One of the big reasons he got the main job was that he had a bunch of kids/reserves playing better football than the senior team. So it would be unfair to say he's always been 'gifted' the top jobs, and he showed that he was a promising coach.

He also works crazily hard, like obsessively, and at Barca burnt himself out. He's only ever going to last 3/4 years at a club (and to be fair, hardly any managers do have longer spells than this). It wouldn't surprise me if he took another year out and had a break - although with the amount of jobs that look available in the summer he may not be able to and may have to pick one, but it wouldn't shock me if he sat out a year.
