I'm gonna stay here sat on this fence until the end of the season.

I'm sure we have a record of going on decent runs in September to December.

A lot of the comments on here could have been posted after we beat QPR 4-0 on match day 2 last season only to then fail to impress for a long time.

For me to truly fall in love with poch he has to show he can identify when his plan A isn't working and do something about it.
Like for like subs isn't what I'm looking for.

Hardly the same thing though is it?

We're 13 games in and have performed consistently highly so far. Fair enough if you don't want to get carried away, probably advisable in fairness, but there's no harm in acknowledging we're doing well three months into the League.

We were pretty poor at the start of the season dude. Even if we played ok we didn't look like scoring in a month of Sundays in a lot of games.
Really it's the rise of dembele and Alli that's marked an upturn this season.

Not really. Bar the Sunderland game I think we started off quite well and have just continued to get stronger.

Everton, for example, in August was one of our best performances up until yesterday. That was a game we should of won 2-0.

For me, its not the results that drive the optimism - though that helps - its the team ethos that we can clearly see now. Poch has got the lads believing in themselves, and in each other. That mental turnaround tells me that we absolutely have the right manager for this squad.

We are still the youngest squad in the league - we will make "youthful" mistakes from time to time, and that will cost us points that we will rue. But the mental make-up of this squad is amazing right now - and when talent and experience catch-up, we will be a title contender for certain. Poch made that transformation happen.

We were playing well just struggling to put our chances away. You seem to have a classic case of being unable to seperate results from performances.

But we didn't beat everton because despite having the ball a lot we didn't look like scoring. We were rubbish in the second half against stoke rubbish against anderlecht away.

But we have seemingly improved on a steady tragectory.
If we build or even maintain it until the last ball is kicked I'll be happy.
But it's November. We're 10 points ahead of chelsea. We've thrown away leads like that in the last 2 months too many times.

You have to appreciate though of course he isn't the finished article and will probably admit to himself that he's still learning, so I'm sure he has the self-awareness to know that he has aspects to improve on. It's like saying Lloris isn't a great GK because his distribution is poor.

Everyone has weaknesses, even the best.

I'm sure many an Arsenal fan would say the same about Wenger's ability to change a game with a Plan B?

Similiarly Barca and Bayern (less so) tend to only play one way. But does that take away from their achievements. Generally speaking the managers who are brilliant tacticians, Mourinho and LVG don't necessarily play the best football though.

I was for LVG and then Benitez, in fact firstly I was for Sherwood. He did something that other managers rarely did he gave youth a chance and Poch has continued that.

Last season was at times great and at times boring as hell.

What he has done with Dier, Mason, Walker and Dembele has been nothing short of a miracle. He is improving players, something that's rare today. Especially with English players.

I really feel we have a chance this season, of what I am not sure.

Still no love for Lamela?

You don't win points by having a lot of the ball in the middle of the pitch and having 5 shots from 35 yards (unless Bale is shooting)

If we don't score enough we face losing games like united and anderlecht on freak goals conceded.

That's crap mate...Kane had two great chances against Everton, clean through on goal - just like yesterday, and Mason should of scored for sure about 8 yards out. We most certainly did look like scoring.

Wonder if people are still mad at Poch for resting players against Arsenal in the cup, there's was a few who were spitting feathers at the time.

We did look like scoring though - we have maintained a decently high shots per game ratio and shots on target ratio even then..

We created 49 chances in the first 4 matches - we just couldn't score a high enough percentage of them.

Kane scored 0 from around 13 shots (on target, off target and blocked) in the first 4 matches

in the last 4

he has scored 7 from 20 shots

So yes he has had more chances but if he put away the same ratio in the first 4 games we would have won at least two of them.

I'm not overly bothered.
It's not not like they played a full strength team nor did they even deserve their win.

Do you watch matches or just look at the BBC stats during the game?

Ha! We had plenty of clear cut chances in those games but I repeat, we struggled to put them away. The way we were playing though, it was only matter of time before we started putting teams to the sword, and that what has begun happening.

I watch them mate - did you see the everton game? the chance Kane missed vs stoke at 2-0 in the first half which would have put us out of reach? the Mason chance in the same half?

We have created plenty of chances. Maybe not enough vs Man U but in the other games early on in the season our play may not have been as fluid but we certainly created enough chances.
