Just for f**king off that wage thief Adebayor, Poch will always be my hero. Anything else he achieves during his (hopefully) long Spurs career is merely icing on the cake.

I was on the fence with his appointment then jumped on his side during last season. Towards the end of last season I climbed back on the fence when I started to question his selection and substitute tactics. I was ready to jump on the other side when I saw him doing things like using Dier in the midfield. When I saw the departure of the deadwood, the emergence of Dier as a defensive midfielder, the renaissance Lamela and Dembele, the willingness of gradually integrating the young players and the obvious team spirit, I happily jumped on his side and ran as far from the fence as I could.

LOL I was for Poch all along. Much preferred him to FDB and I can tell you I would have been very depressed if we appointed FDB. I have always been a fan of Bielsa but Poch has taken his benefactors philosophy and made it more robust. To be honest I though this was a 3 year project before we would see what we are seeing now so I am delighted. Long may it continue and as for his references to his 'philosophy' that's what it really is. Its not a cliché or throw away line, its a unique approach to the game. The Poch philosophy is what the players have bought into and wow is it now reaping dividends!

Does it upset you that Ade earned £5m+ a year at Spurs? I hope you're a ST holder so it pains you even more knowing that your hard earned money is sitting in an offshore bank account.

People are getting too much emotional. We have not won anything yet... Heck for all our unbeaten run , we are yet to break into the top 4 .... Lets see how season ends ...

Yeah I agree we shouldn't be sucking each other's proverbial cocks just yet, but I think the point is that whatever we achieve (or not) this season something tangible is happening with this squad. There is a spirit and a togetherness about us which is reminiscent of the Jol days to me (especially with the English contingent).

We haven't got the raw class of the Bale, Modric, VDV era, but we have a very good platform and if we can back the manger and bring in a couple of top class performers we could go places.

So a bit fickle then :D

Never wanted him to became Spurs manager... He's doing decent job right now, but I'm just not ready to jump his bandwagon. But Spurs are currently playing really good football so who knows if few weeks later I am here to praise Pochettino? (y)

History judges success. Always has done. Being a Spurs fan I also define success as entertainment and attractive football. In my opinion we don't play it very often under Poch. Sure there are the odd matches we do, but generally I actually find us quite dull to watch with a lot of sideways passing in front of the opposition defence, long shots and relying heavily on set pieces. I am hoping that the West Ham game will spur us on to be more like our traditional selves, but I won't hold my breath.
You completely avoided my main point, probably because you're more concerned with being right in the long run and being able to say you told us all so. The point isn't about success right now, it's about progress. We should be excited by the progress. No one is saying he's been successful, or that in 20 years we'll look back at his reign to this point and say it was a success. But, you can definitely see a trajectory that is hugely encouraging, and for that it's right that we praise him, get behind him, and enjoy his tenure.

Some of you guys are mental. To be sitting watching what's going on at Spurs and have the viewpoint that you're not really sure about the manager and you'll wait to see where we finish the season, to me is ridiculous. He's our head coach, he deserves our backing, particularly when he is doing a pretty good job. Everyone in football can see it, and yet our fans seem more keen to wait for a reason to get on his back than get behind him.

True. Marginally better than mediocre then ;)

I think you are being a tad unfair. HR and AVB's fifth place and fourth place finishes always came at the expense of either or both, poor domestic cup and European runs where the League was prioritised. Poch finished fifth with a domestic cup final and a go at the Europa. If memory serves correctly HR never cared about the Europa was pretty poor in the domestic cups, and AVB was knocked out of both domestic cups early but had a go at the Europa. Poch finished fifth while trying to navigate domestic cup runs and Europa.

It was a pretty weak season in the league though. 79 points got 2nd place. We were 5 points down on the previous year.

I think people are entitled to say they'll wait for a while before fully getting on board without being called mental and neg repped. If I remember rightly, you wanted Sherwood out from the moment he was appointed as head coach. Poch is doing an excellent job so far and long may it continue but people are entitled to think differently than you.

i know it was great fun to mercilessly take the mick out of the West Ham fans but I thought a few more pro- us songs were called for and, in particular, a bit of vocal appreciation of Poch wouldn't have gone amiss and has generally been lacking since his appointment.

I agree...and that one about Arsenal Fans , little toy...is cringe worthy

Tbf Levy and Baldini need some mad respect too. Baldini for finding buyers for the deadwood and Levy for sanctioning deals at a loss. The benefit to the team is clear to see.
For all of the slack Baldini gets it was his job to shift the unwanted and he did this very well.
Poch has exceeded all of my expectations and lets hope he supported in January

This is a conversation about football managers, what you doing bringing up Sherwood? ;)

I jest.

I never wanted Sherwood in the job because of what I knew about his character and dealings behind the scenes. That was then combined with a complete lack of professionalism in all matters. Plus there was the small matter of the dreadful football he served up. The issue was broader than whether we were playing well or not.

Now, people may have fundamental problems with Pochettino, and if they do that's fine. I haven't really seen anyone put forward a credible argument for why they aren't supportive or encouraged by him yet. What I have seen is people unwilling to comment about the good stuff, stating they'll wait until there's some verifiable success or not, and then jumping up and down and kicking and screaming when he doesn't bring Josh Onomah on 5 minutes earlier, or takes Kane and Dier to Baku, etc.
