was just talking to a Southampton fan friend of mine who is adamant that they have an 18% sell on clause in the deal when we signed him. Can anyone back this up? if this is true we really shouldn't be selling him.

No, after the the original £5m deal, when they were in financial difficulties, we gave them an upfront one off payment which canceled all future clauses on the deal. In essence we paid around £7m for him in total.

If I was say anything to Bale about thinking of leaving for Old Trafford it would be:

'There is a cow in the other field, but the cow isn't as good as your cow, but the other cow looks better, but it's not always'.

.....and that's in Fergie's own words (well, nearly).

Actually he says that we wouldn't sell for £50 million but surely would for £200 million so you would guess there is a point between those two numbers where financially Levy would have to sell. Which unfortunately is probably true, ofcourse Lewis and Levy being fairly minted could always stay stubborn and say no.

Tbh I don't stick up for these bellends much but I think he was actually being fair and probably is only talking about Bale as he has been asked about him by SSN. Also too right he is jealous, his club are a shower of shit atm.

But the whole purpose of the interview seemed to be about Bale! It was obvious what he pointed out, he's not wrong but why the hell does that twat need to do an interview about it.

Thats right, although apparently it was 3 million making the overall price 8 million.

But 7-8 million is

The thing that is really irking me is Sky's blatant attempt to dismantle our club. With them touting Bale and Modric to all the top clubs and trying to get Harry the England job.

Gets to me too. Though to be honest, I do expect Harry to be next Engerland manager if we keep doing well until Cappillock goes in 2012. That, to me, will be the most dangerous time for our continuing aspirations. Bale, VDV and Modric, as well as Kaboul, Defoe etc, have such an apparently good relationship with Harry that if a new manager comes in they don't get on with or rate, we could easily have the heart of the side ripped out as they all jump ship.

And if Bale ever does leave us

1 - I pray he goes abroad. I'd hate to have to play against him
2 - He's still one player and he's still not bigger than the club. We've been blessed with many great players over the years and the club we all love will go on. Though replacing him satisfactorily might be a wee bit difficult.

I actually think Gareth is in a bit of a slump already this season with only a few performances that were up to his high standard.

He was a far better player last year when he was unstoppable for 14 or 15 games in a row.

Dude, you have to remember that he was a bit of an unknown quantity last season. Now people know about him, they're setting up to neutralise his threat. The same happened with Lennon.

The key for us is to get Lennon firing on all cylinders again (he's getting there). When that happens then they can't mark out either flank, because we'll just run riot on the other. Not to mention the fact that VDV gives us a major threat down the middle too...

Bloody nora. If we had a quality CF we'd be unstoppable.

Equally we could end up with Mourinhoesque manager who keeps the positive momentum going

If he ever does leave us, I would want him to go to Barcelona NOT the Real Madrid lot ! As for the English Clubs, they can go and take a jump, especially the ugly b'stards at Manchester ..

Utd/Liverpool fans that frequent their boards are always really arrogant.

Last season when we beat Man City, someone on RAWK posted something along the lines of "I can't believe Spurs have just qualified for the CL, they do not deserve to. We should be in there, they have had an ok season but how can the CL do without us, our history etc." When I saw the post I was so annoyed I nearly shit a jihad (thats a joke for anyone now monitoring everything I post for using the word 'jihad').

That is disgraceful. "How can the CL do without us". What a bunch of wankers.

I reckon Citeh fans are becoming shocking too and have absolutely nothing whatsoever to hang their hats on.

As for the Ibra / Eto'o swap, wasn't there some Ill feeling between Eto'o and Pep?

There's only one guy I'd want to replace Harry (eventually). BMJ.

I know he has his place in the history of our recent revival but after the last couple of years under 'Arry I dread the thought of going back to the days of Jol as manager. He never knew how to close a game out and wasn't up to scratch tactically.

I was 100% behind Levy when he sacked Jol and bought in Ramos, it was the correct decsion at the time and I believe Levy has ultimately been rewarded for his cut throat ambition.

Jol was good, but not quite good enough for Levy.
