We would probably find someone quite good, they would do extremely well for us for 2 seasons then we would sell the Modric replacement to Manure, and the cycle would start again. If we ever sell them any of our top players again we may as we change our name to "Feederclub for Manure Hotspur"

Even if we could get a replacement that was just as good and hit the ground running, and even if we made money on the deal, we must not roll over and sell them our best players. Simple.
The truth is that United are desperate to buy Modders (as so many headlines say), because Paul Scholes is at the end of his time, and they know they haven't replaced him (just like we couldn't replace Modders). Now isn't the time to bale them out because they haven't replaced a key player effectively, now is the time to try (at least try) to take advantage of the situation.

It does make me laugh that people still think we could have kept Berba. the choice was either let his contract run down and risk losing him for nothing. or play the game with Man Utd and fleece them for 30m. The simple fact is Berba refused to play for us.

United have been sniffing around Modric for 12 months now, little comments from Ferguson about how he thinks Modders has been the player of the season. I have a stong feeling he will be off, some of you have mentioned that the guy is loyal, i dont think there is any loyalty in football from anyone really. Best player we have had in ages ill be so gutted if we lose him.

It is a problem. I think Harry quite rightly only thinks about the football side of things and Levy on the other hand the business. I get the impression Levy is refusing to pay big money for past it players with no resale value that Harry wants. I can understand why Harry would want these players but at the same time it is basically throwing money down the drain if they don't get us top 4. Levy needs to make sure the club is financially secure as it is gonna be here alot longer than Harry is.
