I can't remember the last time we had so many inuries to the first team squad, this is not normal and I wonder if they injuries stem from the fact that Marcos Alvarez (fitness instructor under Ramos) is not with us anymore. Apart from King who's problems have been long term, we never had as many players injured in the past couple of seasons.

Are they regular injuries or bad training methods, poor diets and poor fitness? I couldn't help to think that Huddlestone looked sluggish against Burnley, Is he back to old habits?

I don't think all are as injured as Redknapp says.
Think he's saying that to get away from punishment by the FA, for not fielding them as his strongest team in the Cup, saying they're injured but instead resting his key players for Stoke.

I hope you're right and we're resting players who are playing with a minor knock and calling it an injury. Do you think it was the FA who made him rephrase his words? It seems rediculous as when Arse play kids in the CC cup they are regarded as heroes. Wigan rested most of their players against us in the cup. Other teams sych as Man U and Lpool often play reserve sides, yet we think about it and get slaughtered by everyone.

Some of the players are injured as a direct consequence of too many games played in a short period of time. Any good fitness coach will tell you, that every athlete needs time for recovery after a competitive event. Fatigue in itself weakens muscle strength and this causes the body to reduce its resistance ability to prevent injury to the muscles, tendons and joints. In addition, fatigue also makes the recovery from injuries take longer than what is normally required for healing.

Having said that, I am more than sure that Harry and the medical staff at the club, know all about this and they are very capable and professional people.

This notwithstanding, Some of the other injuries the players have are minor knocks and are being rested from today's match as a precaution for two main prioritised reasons a) They badly need to be rested and b) The league position we are in.

If this was a premiership match the team would be very different.

Then again our first team haven't won at Old Trafford since 1990 so we may as well try the reserves!

this thing about the FA punishing teams who do not play their best players is the cup confuses me. surely the club has every right to play the players they want, not who the FA says. If harry wanted to play the reserves, i dont see what would be the problem, as long as the players are registered to THFC, then surely nothing more can be said. Are the FA allowed to dictate tactics to clubs so that they benefit?

When things are going well players want to play. The way things have gone some would rather hide on the treatment table.

Some of the players are carrying knocks but would play if it was a Premier League game. Not worth risking aggravating any injuries with more important games up. The PL. is of higher importance, that's just the way it is.

I hoping and praying Harry is just saying they are injured so no action cant be taken or no one can accuse him/us of fielding a pretty much second string team today. And all the players missing today will all make miraculous recoveries to play against Stoke on Tuesday!
