Michel didn't do a bad job when he took over against Everton. Let's hope he's up to it until Hugo returns.

Tottenham sweat on Danny Rose's fitness after he plays through the pain for England

Tottenham are sweating on the fitness of Danny Rose after the left-back played on with a hamstring injury for England against Slovakia.

Rose felt his hamstring midway through the 2018 World Cup qualifier, but thought he was okay to carry on and managed to complete the game, setting up Adam Lallana’s stoppage-time winner.

Spurs, however, now fear Rose may have suffered a strain that could keep him out for up to three weeks and see the 26-year-old miss the first Champions League game against Monaco at Wembley next Wednesday night.

In the Premier League, Tottenham face a tricky trip to Stoke City on Saturday and entertain Sunderland after the Monaco match, with Ben Davies on standby to deputise.

It is unclear whether or not England manager Sam Allardyce and his staff were aware of Rose’s problem, or whether the defender took the decision to play on into his own hands.

i didnt pay any attention to this when it was posted around noon tuesday on ftl by benji, as it was assumed someone got something mixed up and it was really mansfield striker danny rose that was injured, but this is was benji posted:
Rose out for 4 weeks
Big big blow

source being his agent apparently

This is a really shit time for him to get injured- with so many games, KWP may be playing LB in some important games.

I never thought I'd say it but such an important player for us. Gutted rose is out l. Hopefully it's not as long as expected

I wish we'd get more savvy about playing for England. Fergie used to drill into his players that they either dropped out of internationals because of 'injuries' or came off as soon as they felt anything wrong.

He's hardly started the season that well, I know he scored against Liverpool but his overall performances haven't been great, nearly cost England a goal as well.

Davies is a bit meh, and does often find himself giving away free kicks through poor reading of situations, but hardly a "shit yourself" back up.

Weren't Davies excellent for Wales this week? Think I saw some comments about his play.
It's a shame if Rose is out, but this is why we have double up i every position.
I have great confidence in Davies to come in and do well, we'll lack something going forward, but he's very solid.

Not sure you could ask for a better replacement. Davies is quality.

Let's hope gkn is up to speed as Davies and him on the left should mean we can keep the attacking pace we have on the left.

FFS. Goodbye to rotating full backs then. Davies will have to play 6 games in under 3 weeks.

God can't they just wind up the England team and save everyone the perpetual embarrassment and misery. Just end it.

Really stupid to try to play through a hamstring strain, if that's true. (And I'm a big fan of him.)
