Thought it worthwhile reminding ourselves just how mamy players will be playing 2 matches (mostly) in the international 'break' sometimes with lengthy travelling and so may come back knackered rather than rested.
England
Kyle Walker, Scott Parker and Jermain Defoe and Steven Caulker are eligible to play for England who play two World Cup games in Group H, away to San Marino on Friday and then travel to play Montenegro next Tuesday.
Aaron Lennon and Michael Dawson pullled out so as to recover from injury in the break.
The England u 21 squad includes Andros Townsend, Danny Rose, Adam Smith (all these 4 are on loan) and Tom Carroll who play Romania and Austria at home.
Belgium
Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele are in the squad to play Macedonia in Group A. They travel to Macedonia for Friday’s game and then play the return fixture on Tuesday in Brussels.
Wales
Gareth Bale plays against Scotland at Hamden Park in Group A
Scotland
Jordan Archer (on loan) has been called up for the Scottish under 21's
France
Hugo Lloris will travel to play against Georgia, and then back to Paris to play Spain in Group I, on Friday and Tuesday respectively.
Iceland
Gylfi Sigurdsson travels to play in Slovenia on Friday in Group E, but that's his only match
USA
Clint Dempsey is in the US squad to play Costa Rica in Colorado on Friday and then flies to Mexico for that game on Tuesday - so likely to be back fairly fatigued frrom the flights on Thursday/Friday.
Cameroon and Togo
Benoit Assou-Ekotto plays at home against Emanuel Adebayor on Saturday - but that's their only match. Wonder when they get back to Spurs ?
Edit - Germany u21's
Lewis Holtby travels to Israel to play one match
So the players not away with their country is a fairly short list of Brad Freidal, William Gallas, Jake Livermore, Kyle Naughton and Tom Huddlestone plus the injured Younis Kaboul, Sandro, Aaron Lennon and Michael Dawson.
With only 5 first team players in training (and hopefully joined by some of the recovering injured) I hope that they train with the develop0ment group not out on loan so as to better integrate the two squads - we might benefit from a couple of the youngsters staying with the first team.
But otherwise, our first team is getting much less rest than most fans might think !
Its likely that AVB will have most of the players (not Dempsey for example) for maybe 2 days to prepare for the Swansea match.
