I think most people see the international break more as a mental break than a physical break.

Going away with your country and hopefully winning will bring the players back with a good
winning mentality.

To be honest none of the travel is that bad with the exception of Dempsey so i can't see it being an issue for most players. The england boys will probably only warm the benches so not to stressed there the Belgium lads should play as will Bale but none of those games will be played at the tempo of the prem so they are not likely to run themselves into the ground. It is not a rest week physically but it is mentally as they will get away from the group, forget about liverpool, inter and fulham and come back 10 days later with that out of their minds. Phsically these guys should be able to cope with playing 2 games a week at any level, international football is not as physically strenuous as playing in England or Spain or Germany in my opinion - mentally during tournaments and key qualification games maybe but....... Bale is playing against Scotland FFS its more of a training match for him.

Dempsey clearly has a lot of flying - but Adebayor/BAE going to Cameroon to play ios a 7 hour flight, not that long but I suspect they will spend a day recouperatimg when they get back, and people have joked earlier in the thread about the difficulty of getting some players back on time, so there may be little time for preparation for the SWansea match.

The other big risk foir all players is injury and/or not following the Spurs required diet and training schedule so some may not come back in peak condition.

Sure these issues can be overstated - but I'd very much like to see all the players back uninjured and in peak condition, before feeling relaxed about the international break.

Not that big a deal IMO, Dembele and Vertonghen are the only two I'll be keeping a close eye on. The rest won't have too much on their plate in terms of number of games and/or travel.

Dempsey won't start away to Swansea so its not really that much of an issue.

This is worrying

A Scottish football manager has sparked anger among fans by appearing to suggest Gareth Bale should be kicked out of Friday's clash between Wales and Scotland.

Bale look set to win a fitness battle with an ankle problem to carry Welsh hopes of victory in the World Cup qualifying clash in Hampden.

But outspoken former Rangers defender and current Dundee boss John Brown appeared to urge Gordon Strachans side to get tough with Bale to avenge last Octobers virtuoso performance that secured a 2-1 Wales win in Cardiff.

Well, do you know what you do? With the pace that hes got and the close control... he cant run without legs, Brown told BBC Radio Scotland.

Im sure itll be passed around the squad. Get close to him and dont give him time and space.
