i havent seen parker play this season but based on this game give me palacios or even JJ over him, just a sack of meat in the middle of the park not really doing much.

If we sign him I hope its not a case of him just looking brilliant in a shit championship side

Yeah but everyone looks shit apart from Young and Wilshire.

milner is shit, lampard is past his sell by date, johnson is shit, terry is vastly overrated, walcott is a shit aaron lennon living on rep, downing is downing, bent is 1 dimensional, baines is nothing special

young and witlshire, and ferdinand (unfit) are the only decent outfield players in the england team, which is why they are stuggling against the world giants of Switzerland

Well that's that then. Awful performance, so lethargic and everything the PL is not in terms of aggression and pace. How can players who play in that league completely change their attitudes and approach? Surely it's not all down to the manager?

Main thing to take from this game is: How the fuck did Milner get to complete 90 minutes?

A creditable draw against one of the powerhouses of European football.

All is well in the garden of England once more.

because they are augmented by superior foreign players with technique and vision. This current crop of england players are hugely overrated because of the success of premier league clubs in europe, teams like switizland are about their level, the sooner the press and fans accept that and dont inevitably list them as top 3 favorites next summer the better people will feel when they get knocked out at the QT final stage but much better technical sides

No matter how many goals he scores or how much is paid for his tranfer, Bent will never get away from that Sandra Redknapp quote.

wilshere is getting rave reviews consistently, i counted him iving it away 6 times in the second half, young spanish players are miles ahead of him. walcoot isnt even exciting he is piss poor, why england had bent leading the line alone... terrible cant hold it up, capello is beyond a joke

I hope Capello doesn't come out and say his wife could have scored that chance, Bent might throw a sulk and demand a transfer to play for Wales in future.

If you're into betting.. Brazil are in full war strength while Oranje are without VDV, Sneijder, Janssen, Stekelenburg etc. and the ones that are there would rather be on the beach of Rio like Afellay. He wanted to pull out, but van Marwijk urged him not to.

Can't see anything other than a Brazil victory, unless ofcourse Oranje reserves are really that good.. However, Krul is in goal since 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice are out injured.

Although I think Lukaku is too young to move I have to defend him here. He was in the squad for Belgium and expected to start but pulled out due to fatigue. The Belgians played some sort of test-match among eachother prior to the Turkey game and Lukaku scored the only 2 goals so he was definately going to be their 1st choice striker.

Disappointed in Parker today... I kind of figured we stood a decent chance of 'pool coming in and snatching him if he put in a good shift :)

I don't like negativity in general, but I for the life of me have never seen anything in Scott Parker that suggested to me he was worth the kind of praise and hype he receives so often.

Forget his age, forget his transfer fee, and forget his wages - for a second, let's just strip that away and assess the player himself.

He is praised for his tireless work rate and refusal to give the opposition any time on the ball. In actual fact, he's often dragged out of position; drawn to the ball, allowing space in behind him, and his team open and out numbered.

His passing is technique in general is actually quite poor. Harry praised him in his column for being able to do everything, but in my opinion, he does everything OK. He'll put his foot in, he'll work his bollocks off, and he'll get forward too. On the face of it, that's great, until you consider that his skill set is so limited that he often gives it straight back, his work rate often results in his team losing shape, and his final ball is poor.

The only way I see Parker working in our midfield is if he anchors the midfield in a more defensive roll that he has been accustomed to, winning possession, and giving it simple to one of the more technically gifted players around him. Sadly, I think both Sandro & Palacios are better than him at doing just that.

On another note, Wilshere is going to be one hell of a player... the **** :)
