Steven Bergwijn continued his fine goalscoring form for the Netherlands on Friday night as he found the target for the fifth time in four games on the international stage.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s Denmark came from behind to win against Hugo Lloris’ reigning world champions France in Paris.

Bryan Gil enjoyed a goalscoring night of his own as he bagged a brace for Spain’s Under-21s in their 6-0 thrashing of Northern Ireland in Larne.

Gil has to be brought back, that kid has talent.

Perhaps loan him out in the Championship or prepare him in a full pre-season and blood him in the early round of the domestic Cup competitions, but he is a player that we need to keep.

Great future ahead of him.

I hope it does work out for him with us, but scoring against Northern Ireland U21s is no more impressive than scoring against a team 4+ divisions below us in the FA Cup 3rd round.

By all accounts he has had a good loan period, impressive or not he is a good player and can become a very good one. How many (home) loans did Kane, Rose, and Walker have before becoming first team players?
