If he is actually injured, clubs will think twice before buying him. If he is feigning injury , which I doubt it - no worries again - If he is sold he will fetch near to 20m. Buy a equally experienced goalie like Madanda from Marsellies & use the rest for other buys.

Shit timing. It'll give the doom-mongers the ammo they need to spout their crap about how their adamant views about Lloris leaving was spot on had in not been for the injury.

I think we can assume that he does have a broken wrist and that it isn't a strategy for a move. With a broken wrist I can't see it encouraging bids so imo it decreases the chances of a move.

One thing that makes me relatively confident he will stay is the lack of speculation about Spurs buying a keeper. Surely lloris would've signaled any intention to move if he had one and Spurs would be looking for a replacement? For example, I would've thought we would've gone in for someone like begovic as being number 1 at Spurs has to be better than number 2 at Chelsea.

If we were travelling for a match somewhere in Asia or US. I would wonder if the "injury" was so that he could stay in London to discuss a deal with a potential new club...

But... Most are back in training, and i always feel Lloris is the consummate professional. Yeah in the end we might lose him to a club like Madrid or Man Utd. But heck we are gonna squeeze every single drop form them. Making buffon's record price for a goalkeeper look like what levy pays for a lap dance.

But did he break it yesterday, during holidays or what? This mystical injury concerns me.
Remember Bale, "injured" so he could participate in the pre-season friendlies.
Dont like this at all. But i do expect Levy not to sell our best player to a rival.

I doubt you'd chose a broken wrist if you were faking an injury. He's going to be out and about people would notice if there was nothing wrong.

Our fans need to get a grip. Guy breaks his wrist, "must be angling for a fkin move". Adult men.

BTW - that was not the point of starting the thread from my point of view - was only concerned with opening day at manUre and beyond...

Not concerned about the injury at all, Hugo is not the kind of person to make up an injury. Big miss if he misses the start of the season though

I should set up a business selling tin foil hats online, would make a fortune out of Spurs fans

Why would the club make such a big deal about Lloris returning to training yesterday https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/620556740573196288/photo/1 if the whole thing is a set up because he is being sold or wants out?

Plus its highly disrespectful and insulting to Lloris that he be accused of faking injury to get a transfer, i hope to god he doesn't lurk on these forums

I think everyone who supports our great club is concerned that our best, and one of the world's best, gk has broken his wrist. Maybe the French as well.
In regards to transfers, no.

You don't break a wrist when angling for a move, you have a mysterious thigh problem or hamstring injury.

Sheesh, enough with the doom Mongering, there is zero reason to believe this part of an elaborate move plot. He is injured, that's bad enough, especially an injury like this that will keep him out of the first few games.

unless he is wearing a cast to make it look real......

Seriously, i dont believe its anything sinister either. i would however like to know how he did it, cheeky beggar.

Only thing that did confuse me, if he broker his wrist why didnt he tell anyone before he came back to training. seemed like he just turned up in a cast for his first day back at school

Apologies - I wasn't twisting your words, just not remembering it correctly. Still...oil rigs?!?

As for Lloris, I don't think it is unreasonable to have suspicions about this injury. Hopefully it is literally just a case of bad timing, but it doesn't look good when a news story comes out about Madrid's interest in him and a few hours later he's ruled out of our pre-season games.

You look back at our three biggest sales - Berbatov, Modric, and Bale - all three either refused to play for the club or had a convenient 'injury'. I'd like to think that Lloris is above that, but there's no denying that it has proven itself to be a successful method of encouraging a transfer away from the club.

We've also heard that the club has made deals with players in the past, such as telling Modric and Bale they could leave after one more season. Bale's transfer to Madrid, according to ITK on COYS, was being prepared a full year before it happened. It's hardly 'tin foil hat' levels of conspiracy to think that the club may have some arrangement in place with Lloris, and that they'd be complicit in spinning a story to explain his absence from pre-season/first games of the season as a deal is finalised.
