first post in a while, but i have been thinking as of late, is dimi really gonna go?

like most people i thought that the liverpool match was his last game and may still be, but, who is going to buy him?

AC Milan - they have Ronaldo, Kaka, Inzaghi and seem to be linked more heavily with Drogba than dimi? and they are not in the champs league next year!

Juventus - Just bought Amauri and no rumours to date!

Inter - linked to Etoo and already have Ibrahimovic, Cruz, Crespo, Adriano and Mourinho is gonna be there new boss would he want dimi?

Barcelona - Ronaldinho, Etoo, Henry, Gudjohnsen - i know 2 of these are being linked away from the club but they are also being linked with ibrahimovic and trezeguet

Real Madrid - Van Nistlerooy, Raul, Saviola - no links to dimi that i can remember?

Bayern - i have discounted the german club as he came from the bundesliga and the premiership is a bigger league to play in even tho we are in the uefa and bayern are in the champs league.

Chelsea - Alot of turmoil at the club, whose the manager let alone who are they gonna buy? would we sell to them either?

Man Utd - serious interest known from last summer but yet again would we sell to them? and does fergie think dimi suit the pressing nature of his forwards i.e. rooney and tevez work rate is like keano in our team!

he may want to leave he may not, who knows? he has never come out and said what he wants, which is why us fans get soo frustrated.

so my point is am i doing a typical spurs thing and building my hopes up for a fall or are we gonna have dimi playing at the lane next year??

Its an interesting question that im sure has had every spurs fan biting there nails off for a while now. In my personal opinion i think its not in his court. I think that a lot has bene going on behind the scenes IMO levy is looking to offload him but for rediculous money. In my heart of hearts i think he will say but only because like you point out all the clubs that wouldnt be an upgrade to spurs are either currently in termoil or have adequate options upfront already.

If anybody i think he'll go to man.u or inter simply because inter will be buying with INTENT this season to fog the memory of the fans after the rocky period they've had over the last couple weeks what with the comings and goings in the backroom. Man.U however are always going to be contenders for top players signitures and remeber guys there is no smoke without fire in most instances and what with the regularity or them being linked to him i wouldnt totally discard Sir Alex being interested in berbatov.

I don't want to count my chickens, BUT, I can't see him going anywhere, as like you, I can't see where he will go. And Levy is using all the time he has to pursue transfer targets which would persuade him to stay.

The whole thing seems to have faded out recently, which to me means one of two things; a deal has already been reached with a club, and it's being kept VERY quiet, or he's on the verge of saying he wants to stay.

The longer it's put off though, the more confident I am that he'll stay. I think if a deal hasn't been reached with anyone by the end of June, he'll be here.

Tevez turned out to be better than expected for Man U - I dont know if they're going to put up the kind of dough we want for Berbs now. Someone will, though.

I think he's gone. All the clubs mentioned in the first post are better than spurs in footballing terms. As a professional player in his prime, he owes it to himself to leave.

first post in a while, but i have been thinking as of late, is dimi really gonna go?

like most people i thought that the liverpool match was his last game and may still be, but, who is going to buy him?

AC Milan - they have Ronaldo(is injured may never come back), Kaka midfielder, Inzaghi past it and seem to be linked more heavily with Drogba than dimi? and they are not in the champs league next year! they need a striker desperately, but Dimi prob. is not first

Juventus - Just bought Amauri and no rumours to date! small rumours where present but quickly washed away

Inter - linked to Etoo and already have Ibrahimovic, Cruz, Crespo, Adriano and Mourinho is gonna be there new boss would he want dimi? out of question/don't need him (personal opinion)

Barcelona - Ronaldinho, Etoo, Henry, Gudjohnsen - i know 2 of these are being linked away from the club but they are also being linked with ibrahimovic and trezeguet most likely suitors for me, they are having a major reshuffle and will want a striker, but their or others on the list

Real Madrid - Van Nistlerooy, Raul, Saviola - no links to dimi that i can remember? again small links, dont have any need for dimi

Bayern - i have discounted the german club as he came from the bundesliga and the premiership is a bigger league to play in even tho we are in the uefa and bayern are in the champs league. hahahaha youre right to discount it it aint gonna happen, and isnt attack their best position

Chelsea - Alot of turmoil at the club, whose the manager let alone who are they gonna buy? would we sell to them either?
possible but wont sell to them

Man Utd - serious interest known from last summer but yet again would we sell to them? and does fergie think dimi suit the pressing nature of his forwards i.e. rooney and tevez work rate is like keano in our team! possibility, but will Berba wont to have a bit part

he may want to leave he may not, who knows? he has never come out and said what he wants, which is why us fans get soo frustrated.

so my point is am i doing a typical spurs thing and building my hopes up for a fall or are we gonna have dimi playing at the lane next year??

that's not the question. The question is do they want him/can they afford him

There are alot of top strikers being touted left right and centre at the moment. There are only 6 clubs that he would go to and could afford him. INTER, AC, JUVENTUS, BARCELONA, REAL, MAN U. Although Chelsea could afford him we would not sell and I don't think he would go with there being such turmoil at the club. If he joins the chavs he would also be hated by us which i'm sure he wouldn't want

INTER
Mourinho seems certain to join inter. If he does then you can be sure Drogba will go there. So no room for Berba

AC MILAN
IMO is his most likely destination. With Gilardinho leaving and Ronaldo's injury problems and Inzaghi's age they only have Kaka and Pato who is young. If he was to go there he would start alongside Kaka. Berba would be very tempted. The only saving grace is that they are not in CL. But AC are regarded as the best team in World football.

JUVENTUS
have just spent 20m on Amuri to join del pieroand trezeguez. Trezeguez will leave to go to barca so there will be room for Berba

BARCELONA
Eto'o seems destined to leave. I think he will go to Chelsea to replace drogba. But I think they will get trezeguez. They will be looking for pace to replace Eto'o

REAL MADRID
Is the biggest threat for me. They could do with a player like Berba and certainly have the funds

MAN U
Would love berba as a replacement for saha. They cannot go for the treble with only Teves and Rooney. Big threat from them

So for me its one of AC, Juventus, Real, Man U. We know they can afford it but would they py 30m for him?

Modric has been told Berba is staying:

http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport...They-look-strong-TV-theyre-good.html?ITO=1490

'They also had a manager (Juande Ramos) who wanted me a lot. He turned Sevilla into a giant and he can do the same for Tottenham. I know Niko Kranjcar had a year to settle in properly at Portsmouth but I do not think it will take me that long. For one thing, I will have great players around me like Keane and Berbatov. I have not been told he is going, so I hope he stays.'

Let's hope that Danny, Damien and Wendy haven't been telling porkies to Luka!

(Rest of the article is a good read, btw)

I have always said that I think he will stay, most of the rumours about him are started by the gutter press and sets the fans up, as for it not being in the papers so much at the moment, well they have found another story to wind up the fans, Ronaldo.

I have to agree that Real are the biggest threat.

Yes they have the funds, they always find it when they need it, especially if they are willing to spend the reported 100m euros on Ronaldo.

They also do need a target striker. Saviola looks on his way due to lack of opportunities, Van Nistlerooy's injury mid-season highlighted their lack of depth for a front man and Berba fits their style in every way.

I think if he goes it could be to them but I cant see anyone else stealing him

The Blood Money funded enterprise that's foolish enough to call itself chelsea "football club" might well use him. Their psychopathic commander-in-oil-theif wants sexy football to enliven the video game "reality" he uses to distract himself from his crimes, and Berba's skills will surely appeal to his narcissism.

It has all gone very quiet about him leaving. My gut feeling like I think most spurs fans is he will be leaving us by September 1st ( think thats when transfer window closes). He has been over shadowed in recent weeks by this whole goings on with Ronaldo going to real madrid! But I think there are only four may be five serious clubs who could sign berba if Levy sticks to his guns and says that he wont let Berba leave for anything less than £25 - £30 million. They are Chelsea, Barca, Inter, Real Madrid, maybe Ac Milan but they recently had a list of forwards they wanted to sign and Berba wasnt on that list! I think as much as I hate to say it Chelsea would probley be favourites for him in my view if as expected Drogba leaves them in the summer! If they did come in for him I hope Levy plays hardball with them and tells them the fee for them to sign Berba is £35 million though!
