Is something going on with the ownership?

I had a call earlier today from a caller in the US asking if I was prepared to sell my Spurs shares. I've held them ever since they were issued in the 80's. They said that they trade at about 40p a share and they would offer £2 a share.

I can't see that my 100 shares are of any relevance but maybe someone is trying to build up a holding.

Thought it may be of interest.

Of course I said no!

I wouldn't be surprised if it was ENIC looking to buy them.

You sure it wasn't Stubhub, after sellers premium you'll still get 40p, plus they'll add £1.50 buyers premium too?

I think I might be able to lend credibility to this being a scam of sorts. I'm no expert since I don't own shares my self, but if I'm not mistaken, 40p a share was the price the last day Spurs was listed with the junior market. That was back in 2012. Since then, trades have been rare and far in between, but share auctions have indicated prices at around 200p. Whatever the scammers are trying to do, they are not giving away 160p a share.

Don't. Sell them for anything less than 1.90 and use assetmatch it's the only company that deals in spurs shares properly, the others trying to buy them cheap, current price is 1.90 valuing us at 400 mill ...

Never believe the price someone tells u. Always check it out.

It's always easy to scam someone telling them oh it's usually $59.90 and today it's on offer at $29.90. U most likely find its selling at $19.90 else where. Lol

Anyway could be just a fan trying to get a few shares in his favourite team....

Something that I might consider... Closes I can get to WHL at the moment.

I'm very aware of scam calls and I think this may have been genuine as they gave up very quickly when I said I didn't want to sell. But interesting they offered £2 just above the £1.90 that Assetmatch buy back at.

Time will tell

I had a similar call a couple of years ago when Cain Hoy (or whatever they were called) were sniffing around. IIRC they were offering about 1.5 times the going rate at that time. My shares were a present from my late Dad and I inherited his too. He would be horrified if I even thought about selling them.

I never had calls this time or when it was going on a couple of months ago.
