Speaking with a load of Barca fans before the Semi Final (I have a pub in Manchester) they mentioned that Eto'o was expected to sign for Tottenham assuming Barca won nowt this season, and that the financing of the deal mainly the astronomical wages were going to be heavily off set by Puma who sponsor Eto'o personally and Cameroon and that they want him to be playing for a Puma team next season.

This seems all too plausable.

I seriously doubt Puma are so desperate for him to play for a 'Puma team' that they're willing to pay him more so he can take a wage cut to join us.

Not sure where this was from originally (it's on Setanta), but…

Samuel Eto’o, is convinced Barcelona can recapture their best form.
The Catalans have had a couple of seasons of underachievement and there is huge pressure for change at the club.
Eto’o himself has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou, but he is convinced he has a future at the club and that it will be bright.
“I still have a contract (until 2010) and I think that we can have fun with this team,” said Eto’o.
“Regarding the players that we have got, we can still make the fans enjoy themselves.
“I believe in this team.”

I thought everyone wanted midfielders for Christmas?

Why are we constantly wanking over the 78 different superstar strikers we are signing?

HI Bakez - not me - for me we need GK CB LB & DM

we only need another striker if we lose one and then I'd rather spend not too much on a striker say £10m max - keeping most of the money for the positions mentioned

Not exactly a big if is it?

Hi Al - you're probably right - but it still is an if ATM - however small -

obviously if we're losing a striker the Board etc should be sounding out replacements - just hope we don't spend on a striker so much that it cramps other important spending areas

Not wanting to make this a love-in you are of course right about the need for a striker, if we keep what we have we need no more.

On the other hand if Puma thinks that we're on the verge of great things, why not accommodate us with Eto'o so that we can achieve CL; and since they've a contract with us, we cannot ask for an increase in sponsorship money with our new status.

I am pretty sure that if Berbatov goes, it will not be to Manchester United.
