Heard a little bit of reliable info for those interested. Not much but..

1: Comolli has been to South America four times in the last few weeks. (would presume there's some serious interest goin on there)

2: The reason the stadium announcement is taking so long is not the site or the transport. Its simply the financing. With property prices falling, its much harder to get the loans in place.

3: Ar5ena1 are seriously worried about the property market effecting their cashflow in the next few years. A large part of the loans they borrowed for the Emirates are secured against sales of Highbury Sqaure (the development of Highbury). With property prices falling, they are worried they will not be able to sell as quickly as they need to. These fears are already limiting their cashflow now

So whose Comolli after?

If he unearths the new Messi then all problems with him will be forgiven.

And news about the Arse having trouble is always good to hear :D

Could be the young Uruguayan striker we've linked with. Or young Argentine left-wing prodigy, Damian Escudero, who I believe has an Italian passport, and who we've been linked with in the past. Or one of the top Chileans - eg attacking midfielder Jorge Valdivia.

The problem with buying from South America is that most of the top players are already in Europe, and any player would have to have a second nationality with a European passport (eg Escudero & Italy), or to have played in a high percentage of recent full internationals (eg Valdivia).

I suppose it could also be Adriano, but this quote from wiki suggests he's still not a happy bunny:

Adriano was sent off after head butting Santos fullback Domingos on February 10, 2008, and was suspended for two matches after initially risking a suspension of eighteen months.[12] He was fined by São Paulo on February 29 after arriving thirty minutes late for training, then leaving early and exchanging words with a photographer. According to team sporting director Marco Aurelio Cunha, Adriano “left the training ground because he wanted to. The team does not miss him. If he is not happy at São Paulo he is free to go."[13]

I dont think I'd want him at spurs - all the talent in the world but he's totally off the rails and has been for some time

Very sensible suggestions. Since Ever Banega moved to Valencia in January I would agree that these three are our most likely targets over there. I know we were definitely scouting Escudero over the winter.

My thoughts exactly. Considering there was a waiting list for these appartments for the past nearly five (before the Emitates had even started) and considering most were puchased in lieu of being bult, does not add credibility to this ITK some how

I'd take Juan Manuele Torres from River! Looks like a good contender for the next Argie to move to Europe. So gutted we didn't get in before Valencia for Ever Banega - makes Gago look like Zookora!

Couldn't we add Alexis Sánchez to that list? He seems to have impressed quite a few--I've liked what I've seen of him so far (only 4 games, though). I'm pretty sure he can play on the wing, as well as in the AM and FW role.

:shifty:...maybe...just maybe...we're scouting

Riquelme! :eek:mg:

(that was a joke, before everyone starts...)
