Thing is who had really heard of Madison until this season. Grealish has been a known talent for quite a while. I know some kids come on later than others but there is definitely something there for Poch to work with imo.

Maddison has been around roughly the same amount of time as Grealish... we were linked with him before he 1st signed for Norwich. You’ve Maddison on one hand who can shoot, cross and scores goals and on the other hand Grealish who’s more of a creator but not a goal scorer. When the 3 behind Kane have failed to fire we’ve been crying out for a sub who can make an impact... that’s Maddison, not Grealish.

Maddison not in same category as Grealish! Period! I watched Maddison too many times at Coventry. Very good, but not in Grealish’s league. Grealish was always seen as a massive talent, well before he burst on the scene. Some of us needs to get real.

To say Maddison isn’t in the same league as Grealish I think you’re in the need to get real category.

I watched him in the playoff semi against Middlesbrough, he stood out for sure.

I'm a bit meh about it but there's definitely talent there. Must mean we're sticking with 4-2-3-1 for the most part. The question is whether his attitude will hold up.

We have Lucas, Son etc to make an impact. What we don't have is backup for Eriksen.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think spending a season with John Terry has actually done the world of good for Grealish - seems to have really knuckled down this season.

Think he's learnt a lot from him.

Either that or Terry threatened to shag Grealish's misses if he didn't up his game...

Each to their own, but I know who I would prefer, and it certainly isn’t Maddison.

To be fair it’s not difficult to stand out in the Villa team... I know they got to the play off final but they’re pretty diabolical to watch.

I meant he was the top rated player in the match, not just the Villa side, even though they lost.

To be fair, he also makes more sense considering the players we've already got. We've got enough pace and directness now, most of the time we play bus parkers and we need someone who can see a pass.

I haven't seen him enough to judge his unselfishness and decision making though.

Personally think this would be a great signing. Too many people are lured by the promise of a big name, but the best players in our team used to be nobodies - Kane, Alli, Son even - or players with so-so reputations that we've developed. Signing Grealish also doesn't mean we won't go after the big name that everyone craves, aka Martial.

I think he's got an incredible amount of potential, plays in a style that's different to any one of our other midfielders (across a couple of positions too) and is another young English talent, which can only be a good thing.

I'm fully on board and hope it comes off.

More I think about it, the more I like it. Especially if we get Martial.

If we have Martial, Son and Lucas then they provide us with our pace, directness and goal threat. Eriksen and Grealish create and drift. Add in Alli who does a bit of everything then that is a great 6 options. We still have Lamela too!
