Give him the armband IMO.

And if he scores on his debut, name one of the meal deals at the new stadium after him, in his honour.
*The Greal Deal: A pair of rolled up socks in a bun marinaded in hair gel and the tears of Villa fans.

Considering JJ said Grealish is not 'our first choice' i'm guessing it's pretty much nailed this will be our only signing. Unless the Martial/Alderweireld swap actually happens.

How are those signings dependent on one another? Surely he meant first choice as in midfielder not a forward type player.

You genuinely could not script Lyall he is so on brand... Breaking Sky Sources understand another outlets story.

I like Grealish as a player, always looks forward and makes things happen.

If his name was Grealishivic and he was Croatian, our fans would be very excited.

Hmm no I think people would be a lot less excited if we payed £30 million for a 23yr old Croatian who had one good season in the 2nd Division

The fact that he's English has boosted his appeal

We all probably knew this anyway, but if Mr Percy hears it's likely to get rejected - it's safe to say, it'll get rejected.

Depends how Grealish is viewed by the club tbh. I get the impression he is seen as another number 10 option/Eriksen backup. And with Dembele staying we'll plough on with the double pivot in CM rather then move to 433 like everyone seems to be suggesting.

IF we had managed to get the quick wing forward and a genuine Dembele replacement then I think we might have permanently switched to 433 but things haven't transpired that way.

TBH this transfer window has confused the fuck out me but i'm still attempting to apply some kind of rational thought to little information we have

Dan KP wrote in the Standard a few days ago we were planning to submit an initial bid that we expected to be rejected. He said £20m then but this seems along that plan.
