If we were signing someone from the French league/eredevise with the stats and highlight videos Grealish has people would be excited

Nope. As I said before, the only reason to why I think that this could potentially be good business is because he's English. Otherwise there are better foreign buys (imo).

Grealish was part of the dreadful Villa midfield when they were relegated. He rarely shone in a team that lacked any quality, so he's had PL experience, albeit in a shite team, but never stood out as outstanding potential.

He played 850 minutes of premier league football that season. Hardly a major part of their midfield. To put that in context, that’s 500 fewer minutes than sissoko played for us this season (in the league!!) would anyone even consider Sissoko a key feature of our premier league midfield last year?

I got no beef with people not wanting him but it’d be a whole lot easier to take your points seriously if you didn’t get basic facts wrong. Otherwise it just sounds like you’ve made up your mind based on nothing more than your gut and nothing anyone else says could possibly change your mind.

That's rewriting history a bit. There were plenty who were nonplussed by Alli joining us. Think it was @Trix that pretty much had to persuade the doubters that Alli was in consideration for the first team etc. My memory isn't the best though...
You might be right. I mean, I'm sure the majority of our signings aren't met with unanimous approval on here.

My general point was people will be more excited about something they haven't seen over something they have and don't rate that highly. I don't see a problem with that. A lot of people are exciting about Grealish even if they haven't seen much of him because Poch wants him. That would be the case with the player from France or Holland as well. It's a silly argument.

I think if West Ham or Leicester took a gamble on him this year and he had a great season a lot of fans would be gutted we never took the risk.
I feel he’ll improve immensely under poch and playing with a higher calibre player.

My biggest issue is that he doesn't want to come. Kid's Villa through and through, and if we get him just because Villa force him out then I don't think he'll be as motivated as he is at Villa.

Think he probably would’ve preferred to be promoted with Villa and be playing prem with them, however I think he must realise this is a serious opportunity for him to make that step up.

I don't get that from him at all. I think he is a player who is loyal to Villa, but also recognizes that he has outgrown them, and he still has ambitions to be a top player in the PL.

My gut feeling is that he comes and settles into the squad very quickly. We have a very strong culture right now - everyone here knows that have to prove themselves every single day. I think Grealish will be up for the challenge.

I asked my Villa supporting mate about Grealish and he said: "He is a class player, he'd thrive at Spurs. Gutted to lose him but Villa must sell." Just one person's opinion obviously but he has seen a lot of Grealish and knows his football.

Yep. I have alot of villa supporting mates some of which are season ticket holders and they all say the same.

Same here, good friend of mine is a Villa fanatic and he's bloody gutted that he's off.

Said he's easily a top 4 team player in the future and he's on another level to everyone else in the Villa team.

Watched him a couple of times for Villa and he was head and shoulders above anyone else in the team, including Onomah.
He's certainly Prem quality.

If we can offload Sissoko for a similar fee we've upgraded for nothing.

If we do no other business but this, it will be a successful window .

Hmmm let me think....... stay with Villa and play with Jedinak, Snodgrass, Adomah and Grabban in the Championship or join Spurs, double my money and play in the same side as Eriksen, Dele, Son and Kane in the Champions League.

Yep, Villa it is.
