I think he is a good player and would be happy if we signed him. I am somewhat of a skeptic when it comes to Leicester allowing him to go. I find it very hard to believe as would weaken that team a great deal. I haven’t followed who they have signed or what moves they have made this summer, but I would be amazed they are considering letting Maddison go.
his contract ends in 2024, so if he does not extend his contract this summer would be the last chance to sell for a big fee

Leicester usually do make one big sale a summer because of how they are funded by the owner. Unless they are putting even more money in to prop them up then they will most likely make a sale somewhere. Yet so far I’m seeing very little transfer news involving them.

He'd cost 70m. Only way I see it happening is if we are very successful getting players out.

Would have to find permanent moves/guaranteed money for Reguilon, Emerson, Winks, Lo Celso and one or two of Sanchez, Rodon or Tanganga.

This is it in a nutshell for me. We lack that certain something, and clearly we're after someone of that ilk. He's not perfect for us though, as interesting as he'd be to add to the squad, he's not a perfect fit, and so I can't see us shelling out the small fortune they'd (almost certainly) want

18 goals and 12 assists last year, 25 years old, home grown - he'd cost a bomb

He's the kind of player who we should be targeting though.

Big coin being made in the new stadium, Conte at the helm, Champions League compared to no European football for Leicester etc.

We should be slapping £70m down as he fixes both a HG issue that lingers and a creative spark slot that needs balancing within the squad.

I really hope this one has legs. Put Lo Celso into a swap plus money for Pau Torres to difuse the cost at CB, Lenglet on loan and Spence and we have ourselves a fantastic looking unit

Not sure he would cost 70m personally, I think it would be less than that.

He's HG so naturally would come with a premium, however the 2 years left on his contract almost negates the HG inflation.

I think he would be more along the lines of Richarlison, so 50m plus add ons so maybe 60m all in.

Maybe I'm slightly underestimating his cost, but I would be surprised if he would cost 70m with just two years left on his contract. As someone else mentioned, if they leave it and he refuses to sign a new contract, then they risk losing him for far less next summer.

Not sure 12 PL goals and 8 assists in 35 matches (28 starts) last season can be classed as over rated tbh? he improves our squad no doubt

If people think Maddison is a bell, you should watch some post match interviews with him on YouTube etc. He speaks really well. He seems a pretty switched on/clever lad.

Think he would certainly buy into Contes methods.

Wow, I'm impressed. Hadn't looked at him in that way at all. Like others, I thought he's a total bellend, but having seen that interview, he's actually focussed on his football and what happens on the pitch. I could live with a player like him in the team.

Talented but no thanks. I want players who want to play for THFC and over the years he clearly dislikes us. Must be other options out there, plus he’d cost a fortune.

I just can't see this happening, I do get it, talented, young and HG. However I just don't see Leicester selling him and I also can't see him in our kit. I may well be completely wrong though as my wife would tell me I am all time.

I'd bet Richarlison disliked us until recently.

He would cost a lot, because he's HG and very good, but if can fit within Paratici's budget idc how much he costs.

We're not going to close the gap by signing cheap players.

Philips cost 50M (give or take) - why would Maddison cost so much more?

Seems second tier/squad players are ball park 50 - 60M in this market....i guess Maddison would be the same?

Leicester sold Maguire for 80m. They are not under any real pressure to sell so can get top whack for outgoings.

This is not happening by any stretch of the imagination.

Maddison is their best player. No reason why we should expect to get him for cheap.

I must say I like our MO of buying premier league teams' best players - already with Bissouma and Richarlison.
