With Harry Kane still on his way back from an ankle injury, Pochettino must decide whether to stick with his misfiring new Dutch striker, or go back to Heung-Min Son

What game was this guy watching? Janssen did fine against Leverkusen. It was Dembele who looked poor after he replaced the Dutchman in the 2nd 1/2.

Thought his hold up play was great on Tuesday and we looked awful after he went off, every ball played up the pitch came straight back at our midfield. If his header went in there wouldn't be any of this talk

i like him the goals will come, he took a while to get scoring last season.

We had a player called Son who was really shit last year thank god we sold him after a poor first season.

The guy is doing all right. Hold up play has been good as is his work rate. Trouble is he hasn't scored and that's what strikers get judged on. I'd stick with him I'm sure the goals will come. I'll be pleased to see Harry back in a lillywhite shirt when we play the scum though.

Son wasn't shit last season, although not great. Did score a few important goals.

He wasn't great, but he showed potential. The same potential VJ is currently showing so the point of the comment is valid. If VJ continues to get time on the pitch he will just get better.

The only thing that hampers his time on the pitch is that he cant last more than 30'.

The Article gets better as it goes on.

We were definitely a better side again Leverkusen with Janssen on the pitch. It was his outlet and hold up play that allowed us to break their press. With him off we could not hold onto possession at all. Which makes runs in behind redundant.

Having said that, the second half of the Article is probably right. It's a very tough transition to make and he is probably feeling the pressure (to score) a bit. It reminds me of when Alan Shearer went to Newcastle and was playing as a fantastic hold up man but not scoring. Bobby Robson apparently told him to just get in behind, take a gamble and get some goals. Janssen probably needs to do the same thing. Be a little less selfless and get into poaching position a little more often.

Playing Son off him might be a better idea, rather than instead of him.

at the moment the lad has just started his 3rd season as a 1st team player, and now found himself playing in the toughest league in the world, with a pretty high price tag on his head.

he is playing in a totally different system, and when it comes to scoring goals it definitely helps if a striker receives some form of service to be able to score. at the moment he is receiving a hell of a lot of passes when he has his back to goal.

he has played his part in 8 games in the league 3 starts, and 5 coming on as sub, and in my eyes not receiving a service too score, but he is bringing others into play with his hold up play

Thought he looked decent with Trippier getting the ball in the box.

he did, but it wasn't often enough. i reckon 1 goal in off his arse will do the trick, and at the moment he is trying too hard to become a hero when he does get the chance.

He will come good. As has been said before, his overall play has been brilliant, he's just missing the goals...having said that, however, apart from the header v Leverkusen and his chance v Palace I can't think of any real chances...to me, he doesn't look like an out and out "in the box" striker as he always tends to be in positions out of the penalty area - which is not a bad thing IMO

We have been here with Kane, Lamela and Son.

Given time and our support Janssen will come good. In Poch i trust.
I agree - and I really like what he can offer the team.

But - I need to throw a curve ball - does he look a bit porky to anyone else? Looks like he needs to improve his athleticism - which will come with time and games. In the Dutch division you can get away with it - here, he needs to get super fit - and I don't feel that about him. As a comparison - see how Harry's physique has improved these last two seasons.

But I do believe he will come good. Interesting piece today from Poch telling him he should relax.

Think we need Janssen up front just to give the other 3 forward/attacking midfield players more room to work. Son seems to be better with the ball at his feet rather then challenging in the air, same with Lamela. The only player who is decent in the air is Dele.

And I agree Janssen needs to relax. He seems to be forcing it.
