The 20th could well be to stop him playing against United. It’s strange enough that ineos are selling to us but to rush it through so he could play against their other club would be even weirder.

That's actually a decent shout.

I feel a Levy 'gentlemen's agreement' in the offing.

Ahh guys, never heard of this Edon Zhegrova lad but he may be worth us looking at.

Great recognition for Todibo who has been excellent this season. Fun fact he is ahead of Saliba in the pecking order for France.
We were linked to him last year or the year before I think.

Hadn't heard of him but after watching this comp, I hope we're looking at him. He really does love a nutmeg as well :LOL:

Excellent chance creation as well. He looks ready made for Ange's style of football. Imagine Richy, Sonny, Madders, Udogie, Porro, Sarr getting in the box with these passes/crosses.

Fair. I like Deki in the middle personally. What about Johnson though? Looks better on the right IMO
I was talking in terms of squad depth, two in each position. Madders/Deki - BJ/Zhegrova - Solomon. Plus versatility among these. But prolly a topic for a different thread

Just get Dragusin and stop wasting time, People wanted the other guy from Germany over VDV and that worked out fine.

By the end of the transfer window, we will have one or the other, either our main or secondary target.

I don't see any issues, just the timing of it and that is something that is to a certain degree is out of the Clubs hands.

Exactly this. We sold Sanchez and left ourselves short so no excuse for levy not to stump up

The difficulty we have always had is shifting players a new manager does not want.

Selling Sanchez when we did made sense, freed up salary and got rid of a player that let's be honest always struggled in the PL.

Hindsight is always a great thing to make observations, but none of us saw the injuries and suspensions that cam along one after the other.

In my opinion Davies has stepped in and done an outstanding job, and one that Sanchez would never had done.

Whilst I mostly agree everyone knew from the moment the window closed that injury or suspension at cb could cost us dearly, it’s not a hindsight situation

I think the hindsight situation is having the injuries and suspensions happening at the same time. I think they probably thought they could cope with either happening but didn’t anticipate both happening at the same time.

Regardless, it was a needless risk to have taken by moving on Sanchez and not signing another CB, it needs to be rectified early in the Jan window.

It probably was but if Sanchez wanted to go and Ange didn’t want to keep him maybe they felt it would be a greater risk keeping him. I do agree that they needed to sign another centre back in the summer.
