To be fair to Huddlestone, I don't think Livermore and Kranjcar are keeping him out of the side, he's had an injury recently. It's Sandro and Modric that are keeping him out of the side. Then maybe Pinaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar.

That said, I'd pick Kranjcar and Livermore over Huddlestone. I like the look of Townsend on the wing too.

Huddlestone look like he's been eating his plate along with his dinner the size of him on Thursday night, needs to lose some weight IMO.

I think we are being unfair on Jenas - not everyone can start and we're always going to have squad players that don't get a massive amount of games. He is a good back up player and I'm far more worried about upgrading other positions like CF and CB still. Unless we can pay really top wages we'll never have two amazing players competing for every position, pipe down some of you moaning gits.

Maybe no-one has ever bid for Jenas, so he hasnt had to make the decision to move elsewhere?

Strange thread.

I don't think he has any drive.

He's a far better player than most people give him credit for. He can score great goals, he can set up goals, he can provide that moment of inspiration that we really need during a game...

But mostly it's exactly as jonathanhotspur says...he just can't be bothered most of the time.

Decent utility player, but not someone to put your faith into. At least someone like Parker will give his all.

We are talking about Jermaine Jenas yes?

TBH his one real attribute over his career has been his energy and ability to get from box to box and pop up with a fair amount of goals. Now though whenever he plays he seems to have lost his engine and just sits and plays sideways passes all the time. Whether its a tactical thing and he is told to hold his position I dont know but he definately seems to be of less value to the team now and contributes less than when he first joined us.

Fair enough.

He can score great goals, and he can set them up. I'm in no doubts about that.

He is getting worse though. If only he could regain focus and actually believe in himself, I think he'd be a fantastic player.

I like Jenas

Same, he has never moaned about being in and out of the team and made noises about moving elsewhere like some players do. Although this may add weight to the 'lacking in ambition' argument.

You have to judge it though on what he adds to the team, and over time it seems he adds less and less.

I really don't get it, do you not realise how hard it is to find solid, quality players that are willing to be a squad player. Jenas is a very good player and does well for us when needed, it's the idea of a squad!! You can only have 11 players out there so it's good to have player of his ilk who are willing to sit it out until he is needed!!!

This is our biggest problem. The bloated number of middle wage earners hanging on for dear life at our club. We have 15 or so first team squad midfielders FFS. It's not the fact that we can't pay top wages. We probably could if we could get rid of all the Jenas', Huttons, Bentleys. We pay too many mediocre players, no wonder we can't afford Modric. No wonder Levy's been constantly talking about "trimming the squad". Fucking bunch of hangers on. Fight to help elevate the club or fuck off.

Maybe Jenas has more ambition than to play for a bottom 6 club. He will probably get as many games with us if we do reasonably well in the cups. It's easy to say that he's happy to pick up his wages for sitting on the bench, but I'd imagine he's fighting for his place in the side like anyone else.

It would make my summer if Jenas left Spurs. Simply put, he's fucking useless.

He's our worst midfielder now behind Sandro, Palacios, Livermore etc, so he should drop out of our 25 man squad regardless whether we can shift him or not. Should be loaned out or play in reserves.

You can say he has no ambition or drive because he's happy to just train and sit on the bench, which is true, but management don't help the situation either. If they dropped him out the squad he would be forced to make a decision on his future. As it is, Harry's just as comfortable having him in the squad.

I don't agree that he cannot be bothered. He always seems to give his all given the amount of ground he covers when he plays.

IMO his problem is his lack of self-belief lets him down sometimes.

A bit harsh for towards a player who's given us nearly 6 years service and has put in some great performances and scored some important goals. He may not be top class but he's certinally useful to have over the course of a season. As for his attitude? How do you know that he has no ambition? He may just love the club as hard as it is to beleive.
