on a bunch of pricks? says a whole lot more about you than us, dude :|

Anyways, JJ has been unacceptably poor for too long. Even before this slump his first touch has forever been woeful and his movement off the ball is random at best. One of the reasons Bent and Pav are getting no service - he can't control the ball so how's he meant to be able to play it forward?

Equally, his tendacncy to puss out of tackles annoys me too. He has tons of pace but there's been many occasions where i've watched the oppo break and he just stands there watching them. RUN! RUN BACK!!! Zokora does that, at least and his tackling has improved ten fold from when he first arrived.

How people dont see this amazes me.
JJ needs to sit down for, what, ten hours straight, and watch his "highlight reel". This will give him 15 minutes to watch that then 9 hours 45 minutes to reflect on how he's slipping back towards the same form that had Magpie fans tearing their hair out.

Zokora run back and track his runner??? When???

He has the worst positional sense of any of our central midfielders at Spurs.
JJ covers more area than other player at spurs, more often than not he'll be the only one supporting the strikers one minute and the only midfielder tracking a runner on the edge of our box.

Some of you people are really pathetic. If you just say you don't think he's good enough, that's fine. But to just go completely over the top and start calling him names is completely deplorable.

Some people have never forgiven him for joining us from Newcastle, they didn't like him there and just won't change so they keep on trying to prove themselves right.

They are wrong.

I agree I though Jenas was ok last night, if a little stuck in between positions. He didn't do that much wrong. Bale looked good for the first 10 minutes and then :-|

I thought Modric was great when he came on. Dos Santos struggled to be honest. The defence had him under control after 5 or so minutes and Lennon was more effective there before he was switched to the left. Maybe if Lennon had stayed on the right and GDS played on the left it might have been better.

I was there last night too, I agree pretty much with InOffMeLeftShin. Regarding Jenas, I think he doesn't work well with Modric, for one of two reasons a) they are not compatible b) Jenas wants to be The man, one to feed strikers, even thou not very capable, and doesn't want to give the ball to Modric. Well, I might be biased, since I'm Croatian, but last night I saw point b) on the pitch. If you have three midfieldres playing, two of them are not passing the ball to each other, and third is Zakora, then you are in deep, deep trouble.
Few other toughts:
- Spurs players are by far, far better players then Udinese players. Udinese has defender who, I think, needs 5 minutes to get from one part of the pitch to the other. But, Udinese looked like team, Spurs looked like bunch of individuals with not much in common.
- Zokora and O'Hara are very limited players.
- it's very difficult to understand what's going on with set pieces. Last night it was painful to watch the ball going nowhere all the time.
- it's very difficult to understand some decisions made by Ramos. Lennon on the right was good., on the left he disapeared, not for the first time. Then, I don't think he's dealing very well with the egoes in the squad.
I'm very worried about this season.

Can we please kick that **** out of WHL as soon as we can?

Everyone knows that I don't usually complain, only cheer up people. But after today's game I'm sure that Jenas needs to find a new team. He's shit and even Kerslake and Dozzell were better players than him.

Jenas was our best player last night by a country mile.

jenas was our best player? That's like saying whose the most handsome motherfucker in a burn unit. He sucks, and just because Bale or BAE or Bent were worse, doesn't make him a good player.

I will concede that he probably could be a good player, maybe even more. But we tend to grind the potential out of decent players, and we have done this to him. So the club and it's poisoned chalice shares blame. That's why I fear for Gio, Bostock, Rost, etc.

I'm really not understanding where a player who plays for your club is a viable target to be called a ****, prick, tosser or any other abusive name.

He's not just raped your daughters you mugs, he's just not playing very well. Some of you act like children in the way you take player performances so personally.

'What a terrible tackle, he's a right fucking **** that bloke!' etc etc

It's just some people being infuriatingly lazy. 'Shit' has become meaningless—it's some years since we've had a player who could reasonably be described as 'shit'. There were times last season I could have described Berbatov as 'shit', if not a complete ****.

Jenas is just massively frustrating. He has all the attributes—except maybe something between the ears—to be an absolutely top-class CM. I've posted several times, I want to defend you, son, but just give me some more bullets. But he's not shit, and neither is Zokora (although he annoys the fuck out of me too, because he has the qualities to be a lot better than he is). Jol rated him, so does Ramos, so does Capello—are three out of three wrong? Is it a coincidence that when we got Jenas, King and Keane back two years ago we had the equal-best run in our history?

Might explain a bit

SOCCER WAG Sabrina Keogh has made Spurs’ sad start to the season even MORE woeful for ace Jermaine Jenas — by walking out on the rock-bottom team’s £9million signing.

Fiancee Sabrina, 27, packed her bags and quit their luxury £2million home after rowing with the Tottenham midfielder over his soccer star lifestyle.
Last night she was living in a rented house nearby with the couple’s 11-month-old daughter Sancha.

Arguments

Sabrina was said to have been “incensed” after giving up work at a property investment firm to concentrate on being a mum — only to find their house continually packed with 25-year-old Jenas’s pals.
It sparked a string of rows — even though Jenas has had little to party about as crisis-hit Spurs prop up the Premier League table with a paltry two points.

A friend of Sabrina said: “It was all the people coming round. She wanted out after the arguments became too much.”

Graduate Sabrina, who stole the limelight when she flew to Germany with the England Wags for the 2006 World Cup, told another chum: “It just didn’t work out.”

Jenas has told close pals he is 'devastated' by the break up. A Spurs insider stated "He's really taken it badly. He's locked himself in his room with a Nokia N95 and a tub of vaseline. I keep ringing him but nothing".

Ok, i made the last paragraph up.

Maybe a couple of goals are what he needs right now (the 1st being to get his life sorted). As has been mentioned, he was here the 2 seasons we finished 5th, and a lot of those games were him being played out of position on the right.

Maybe we should play him on the right :)

Hopefully the situation with his fiancee gives him a kick up the ass and gets him motivated. Or it gives Ramos a reason to drop him.

If I were JJ I'd change my middle name to 'One of our better players today' as the phrase is becoming synonymous with him.

However, despite being one of his biggest fans for years (before he even joined Spurs) I just don't think he gets it. IOMLS/SS57 made a great point that his role is not defined properly.

Well, I don't care if he's a box-to-box, attacking, creative, defensive, linkman, or whatever. One thing he indisputably is...is a senior player at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

He cannot be excused any lack of effort. We're in the shit, HE has to pull us out. We lose a goal, HE has to do everything to help get one back. Things don't go our way, HE has to make things happen. In short, it is HIS responsibility over the likes of Modric, Lennon, and even Zokora, to bring success and fight to the side.

And in that regard, he's been shit. No matter the pass ratio, the number of tackles or whatever. He has been captain in the majority of our games this season and we've failed to win them. That is something he has to take responsibility for.

It's time to show some personal pride for Jermaine. When things are up against Liverpool, Steven Gerrard sorts it out. Likewise Chelsea and Frank Lampard. We've needed a big performance from Jenas for weeks and he's given us 'one of our better player' efforts, which is not good enough. Not good enough by a long shot.

We all know he's not in Lampard or Gerrards class as an individual but as a TEAM player there are not may better. He is also not a Captain, which is not his fault either.
