Great to see Jermian back at Spurs. Shame he's UEFA cup-tied. It still means Bent is our only striker in the UEFA cup.

Is there not some rule that you cna re-register one player who has played in Europe already this season, and who previously would have been cup tied?

Thats what I though anyway. If this is the case Harry has to choose who to re-register out of;

Pavlyuchenko
Corluka
Defoe

Any others?

I'd pick Pavlyuchenko. Having to go to Shaktar he'll be used to the sort of football and atmosphere there, and then a possible tie with CSKA Moscow, and he used to play for their rivals he'll want to get one over on them. :razz:

This has been done to death. None of them will be eligible for UEFA this season, just as Rocha and Hutton weren't.

Fucking get in! :hump:

glad to see we got this transfer done and dusted early on in January..

What number do you think he will get? (does he like 18 which is what he had at WHL?)

Defoe can drop deep, he can run at defenders and take long shots. None of which Bent is capable of. He's also got quicker penalty box reflexes IMHO and a far better first touch.

The thing you've blatantly missed of course, is that Bent is better at shooting, and as a striker that's all I care about.

He can drop deep and dribble and fire a shot over - brilliant. But when it comes to freezingly chilled finishing, Bent is miles ahead. Yeah he doesn't score spectacular 35 yarders, but he does rack up goals in and around the box Bent - 12 this year after all.

He's given a hard rap by a lot on here that would rather see ol' ShiftAndShoot smack one in but in time I still think he'll outscore Defoe.

I'd like to think they could play together. But I doubt it.

Regardless of who is better between Bent and Defoe, we now have 4 strikers again. I'm interested in knowing whether we'll continue to look for strikers now or move onto the midfield and possibly defence. If we could sign another striker, someone who could possibly play alongside either Defoe, Pavyluchenko or Bent then we'll have enough options to send Fraizer Campbell back. Someone like Kenwyn Jones might offer something else to the frontline and could potentially link up with either striker.

He can surely do some good and i've got no problems seeing him back at Spurs. Can probably form a good partnership with Pav.

Can never see him play with Bent though since either of them is especially good at linking up or setting his partner up for a goal.
