How would the "Sherwood out" lot feel if old Joe was announced as our new manager in the morning?

The bloke is a joke. He said he had some of the best contacts in the game. I saw a recent interview and he didn't seem with it. Could be health reasons.

Do you think he thought he was a genius but has just been informed that he's actually retarded, Peter Griffin style?

C'mon dude, lets not slag off a former Spurs player who won 1 FA Cup 1 Uefa Cup 2 League Cups for the Club. Was he the right choice for DOF at Newcastle? No, but lets not stoop down to the Geordie's level, he's a Spurs man.

Fair enough. I just know him as a comical loud mouth, but I guess some respect is due for a former Yid.

Yeah mate, over a decade with the Club starting off as a youngster under Bill Nicholson. I think like most old people he's got a bit forgetful and eccentric, but he does know his football, keeping Wimbledon in the Prem as long as he did was quite an achievement.

It always kinda struck me as an appointment to give Kinnear something to do within the club, rather than anything serious. When Carr stayed on after the appointment he was already redundant in the setup. Ashley may be many things but a bad boss isn't one of them, Sports Direct are apparently one of the best companies to work for.

Hilarious guy:
" In a Talksport interview over the telephone on 17 June 2013, Kinnear claimed to have replaced someone called "Derek Lambesi" (sic) as the club's director of football, signed Dean Holdsworth at Wimbledon for £50,000 (actually £650,000), sold Robbie Earle (retired a year after Kinnear left), signed goalkeeper Tim Krul when he was previously manager (actually signed by Graeme Souness three years prior) and has been awarded the LMA Manager of the Year award three times despite only winning the award once, he also said he'd never been sacked in his life. Kinnear claimed to have signed John Hartson on a free when he in fact paid £7.5 million for the striker. He also mispronounced the names of Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shola Ameobi, and others in the Talksport interview."

That's right. Steven Ferguson I think, watched him play then asked the chairman how much he'd cost only to be told he was already a Newcastle player!

Shame to see such a long serving former player of ours end up such a bitter and clearly confused lampoon of himself. I've no doubt that Ashley helped him out with a job for the boys type thing.

what was the Phil Collins song, 'Speaking to Jesus?' He could have his own version.

"Fergie he knows me, and he knows im right
Ive been speaking to Fergie, all my life
Oh yes, he knows me and he knows im right
and hes been telling me everythings gonna be alright"
