It's a great story, Kirkland pulled out of the squad Joe Lewis was promoted to the Senior squad from the U21's in his place and will now travel with the squad to Trinidad and Tobago.

I know Peterborough have been promoted but I think officially they are still a League 2 side at this moment. What I want to know is when was the last time a player from the '4th division' won an England cap? Has it ever happened?

Only been at Posh 6 months. Apparently he is 6ft7, but that info might be wrong.

Maybe but I would assume if this was in the middle of the season Capello would get a replacement from the Premiership but as its the end of season break it was easier to promote from the Under 21's. I would be surprised if he continues to make the squad in the short term future

Can't answer the 4th division bit, but this is as close as I got:

If Lewis makes his debut, he will join a small group of players including Johnny Byrne, Peter Taylor and Steve Bull who have played for England while plying their trade outside the top two divisions.
