Agreed with others, just move him on at this point. I don’t think he’s a bad player at all, I actually feel he’s been okay when called upon, but if no one is willing to give him a chance to become a starter, what’s the point? We need competition, not just numbers to fill out the squad.

Loan him to Brighton, then use him as a makeweight for Lamptey in the summer as we did with KWP when he inevitably proves himself to be a good centre back with a run of games.

He along with Ndombele, Alli and Doherty don’t seem to be part of the plan. Let’s just move him in and let him save his career

Given @Trix latest ITK regarding Rodon being surplus, I'm not gonna lie, I'm somewhat surprised it hasn't worked out for him.

After watching him a few times before he joined up with us, I thought we got him for an absolute steal and was the all action, body on the line defender we needed. Comfortable playing out from the back also.

Shame, but there we go.

Yeah I agree, but now three managers haven't rated him highly enough to want to play him so I think we just have to take that at face value. Protesting that he should be playing more is starting to feel like being an anti-vaxer, where you hold one opinion even though the body of consensus keeps telling you you're wrong.

It's a shame but it is what it is and I trust Conte and FP to identify someone better suited to what they want.

From what I was told he does't think he is mobile enough to play left or right of the three, and he has limitations playing the central role as well. Conte is quite specific in what he wants from all three CB's as all three have slightly different responsibilities.

Kind of a half observation, half intuition thing, I reckon Rodon has trouble following instructions, not from an attitude perspective, but actually carrying out his duties on the field.

In his last appearance for us, the match against the Slovenians that shan't be mentioned, I thought he was having a pretty decent game from a defensive point of view. I could tell he was also trying to get us going by showing urgency in some of his passes. But I also did notice that his teammates oftentimes did not know what he was doing, and Kane gave him a couple of words after a few too many long balls that did not look on in the slightest. I'm fairly certain Conte shouted at him too. Shortly after, he was subbed off.

At that point it looked to me like he wasn't following some sort of game plan and that was pretty much the last we saw of him ever.

I'm not protesting he should be playing more, was merely curious as to where he's failing. (y)

Yeah it wasn't a dig at you in any way, it is quite an interesting situation though. I think @Jet might well be on to something in the post directly above yours, he doesn't seem to be good at following instructions as well as the ITK suggesting he just simply isn't a good fit for what Conte wants his defenders to do. But Mourinho and Nuno didn't set up like Conte so they must have had other issues with him as well.

So it seems to me ... *giggles* ... that unfortunately ... *smirks* ...

it's the end of the Road-on, for Joe

Good post. You should post more regularly if you can. We could do with more of that kind of insight on here!

We haven’t really seen many links in the press about Rodon moving. All seems a bit quiet to me.

Decent game today. Only notable negative was the under-hit pass to the GK, which forced Gollini to blast it out. He should be ahead of Tanganga moving forward as he can do a job as a RCB.

Meh, just don’t think he’s anything special and hope we can make a profit on him

You could see why he’s surplus but i’d feel more comfortable with at the back than Tanganga, in all honesty. Just more competent back there.
