Somehow we are joint 2nd highest goal scorers with Citeh with Man U in first.

Pretty good going for a team that's only had one recognisable striker for most of the season - especially when comparing our strike force to that of the Manchester clubs!

If only we could sort the defense out. The conceded column isn't a good read. Worst in the top 12.

The fact we havent had a settled back four which has included no real out and out LB, a RB in terrible form and our CB's dropping like flies, we haven't done that bad but when you consider if we had kept the ball, we wouldnt of conceded alot of those goals we already have it doesn't look that as good as it should be

Indeed, I think our problem is trying to defend when we should just slow the game down and keep hold of the ball. No longer can we defend a lead, I worry even at 2-0 we are going to somehow fuck up. Hopefully Dembele back in the side can ease the pressure on the defenders. Trouble is, everytime I see Gallas go towards the ball I get nervous.

So that's traditional Spurs form, in the lead or close to in both goals for and goals against.

Well that has been the case supporting Spurs as long as I can remember!

And that's the league that matters.

We are playing counter-attack and wing-attack football, we are going to get our chances from getting down the field quick. That is truly why our possession is low. Looking at games where we held up the ball (Fulham first half) we are better using our pace.

Take out the goals we conceded against Arsenal and Chelsea, then tell me how are we looking? :p

If you look at AVB at Chelsea 40 Games F:69 A:43 you could say we're bang on target

Adebayor coming into the team will help defensively as well, he's does a superb job of holding the ball up and winning fouls that allow us to push higher up the pitch and not hopelessly clear the ball only for it to come back straight

Defend from the front and all that.

Agreed, it will also ease the pressure on Lloris too, I'm sure it must make him panic when he has Lennon, Defoe and Bale to aim to.

I read somewhere that we would be top of the league if only the first 45 minutes counted. Why on earth are we so poor (Fulham away excepted) over the last 45 minutes? We seem to go to pieces and concede possession after a few passes.

Pretty surprising considering I think just about all of us would say we have a lot of ability to get better, too. We don't have the same talent as City, but we're scoring at the same clip.

I'm thinking it's a ringing endorsement for AVB maximizing our talent and Mancini's total fuckery of a stacked squad.

Pretty impressive to be fair. I was thinking about this the other day, we've looked less impressive when playing, but that's obvious because we're lacking a bit in the flair and creativity department with Luka and VDV gone. But when we get the ball the players move like there is an actual plan behind it.

Last year we looked excellent, but far too often nothing came of our great football. This year, even with inferior players, we're still scoring loads of goals. If we could only manage to plug the defensive leak we'll be excellent. I think our defensive worries will be gone once BAE and Kaboul is back.

I think BAE is the key. He's not the best LB in the world, but he does his job very well and the sooner we can get Gallas out of the starting lineup (Saying that now with Dawson presumably out for a bit) by bringing in Vertonghen to CB we will be way better off. BAE - Caulker - Verts - Walker is strong enough to be a Top 4 in the PL back 4.
