We dont need him...we have caroll , holtby in his place

He's more of a defensive midfielder really but one with great vision, he is more like Scott Parker, but with a wide range of passing.

But i think eventually clasie will be moved futher up the pitch....just like xavi ....started the career as a dm...now cm....his physicality doesn't suit into the DM role....i see him more like holtby/caroll...both caroll/holtby can tackle, pass the ball

Yeah see where you're coming from. Holtby and Carroll don't exactly shy away from a challenge either and they're slight.

I don't think physicality is an issue, Clasie is a tenacious little player and in that sense much like Scottie who is only 5 ft 9 and hardly a giant. The thing is though that with only two central mids we need to get away from this "DM" concept and think about more complete midfielders who can both defend and create. I don't think Carroll has that defensive tenacity in his game even though he looks like he has a decent passing range, what we need though is players that can comfortably do both. If you play with three central mids then you can afford the luxury of players with more limited strengths but with only two it just doesn't work. Right now both Parker and Dembele give defensive strength but very little creativity. Obviously if one had more creativity it would help but just like we need to utilise both's defensive strengths at times we really need not just one but boths creativity at times if we want our attacks to flow

I think Sandro's pure desire and drive helps when he plays as though he is primarily a DM he is so strong and powerful that he gives impetus to our attacks and before injury was starting to be more adventurous in his passing. Having an equally tenacious tackler and harrier like Clasie along side him who has a great range of passes and the vision and speed of reaction to hit probing forward passes when he sees openings would make a powerful pairing that does have a strong offensive/defensive balance

Of course if we wanted a bigger stronger and yet pretty complete cm then another great option would be Etienne Capoue of Toulouse, but I think we need to focus on getting layers that are far more rounded in their game

Clasie is not that good, why won't you people listen lol. Vilhena is the one you really want from Feyenoord, he's younger, more versatile and has better technique.

Clasie staying will definitely mean now that de Vrij and BMI are on their way out (should clubs be in for them). If experience is what you want go for JDG (Jonathan de Guzman). He's keeping Clasie on the bench for Oranje. Or indeed go for Strootman, although JDG and Strootman are less DM and more box to box.

Vernon Anita > Clasie.

Sometimes a sign of selling for a higher price????

No he wants to stay. All the talk about a transfer was just to pressure Feyenoord. At 21/22 he's now the 3rd highest paid player in the squad behind Mathijssen and Pelle which no doubt will cause another rift.

Why? because we disagree with your opinion, simples, as for de Vrij I believe he's just signed an extension

I don't really know Clasie, but I really don't want us to waste money on strootman. He's like a dutch tommy huddlestone. Big, tall, slow, holywood pass, and powerful shot. We need a mobile CM
