:wtf:

The media circus, all the hype, it will be hard to get away from.

It will be nauseating for all those just interested in football.

good luck

It'll be perfect to be honest, takes any remaining spotlight off Spurs and will let AVB get on with his job without worrying about the media as they will be busily camped outside Stamford Bridge.

As for Mourinho returning, if he does he might find the job a bit tougher than last time. His mainstay players from his first stint are all nearing the end of their career, some recent purchases haven't been that brilliant bar Mata, and arguably Hazard, and their strikers can't have any more goals than ours. He will be expecting a substantial war chest (yes, I used the war chest catchphrase!), and whether Abramovich will or can provide the millions that he did before is another thing. Not that I think FFP will make a blind bit of difference ffs!

The Independent claim Lampard will get 1 more yr, and Mourinho could announce his extension at his first presser. I've liked Oscar for them too, and Ba is a bargain. Just because it's Jose, and to appease the fans after Rafa I expect them to spend in excess of £100m. And from what some Portugese journos have been waffling on about, I wouldn't be shocked to see Falcao and xabi alonso there

He's overrated as a manager but hey ho; don't let his 'hilarious' and 'eccentric' personality cloud your judgement people

Would be great tohave him back in the PL, great personality and IMO a great manager. I dont see how a manager Who has one a championship in every country he has managed in can be over rated? I like his style and his passion is clear to see. I am looking forward to see him and Mancini clash, because they will :D.

I still cannot see what he can achieve over and above what he did there already by going back to Chelsea, so why would he do it ?

I heard he was a cert for PSG ( with Ancelotti going the other way ) a few months back but all the talk is about Chelsea now so must be some talks ongoing, or is it just Mourinho winding the press up and telling them what they want to hear ?

To be honest I just don't know

Bollocks. The days of us competing with the chavs are gone then.:(

EDIT - Though it will be interesting to see if he has second thoughts if they don't get 4th?

Mourinho came with no pressure to perform from Porto.

The league has moved on and has become a hell of alot more difficult.

League title last year aside, he has done a terrible job at Madrid, considering the squad he had at disposal.

I can see it ending in tears personally

Really?? Fuck me I'd swap him for AVB in a heartbeat.
That's fair enough.

No denying he is talented but I feel he is overhyped due to his off the field antics.

I've got a few friends who support Madrid and they constantly bemoan his personality getting in the way of managing the team (e.g dropping Casillas?!) and being very negative at times with his selections.

I for one hope it all goes tits up if he comes back to Chelsea

I just can't get over how much money he spends to play such unpleasant football. Boggling.

No pressure to perform? Eh?

He came off the back of winning the Champions League and proclaiming himself the 'Special One'. As well as being the highest paid manager in the world, there or there abouts. He had the most pressure he could possibly have (75% put on by himself).

He's still very well regarded at the Bernabeu, his name is loudly cheered (heard it against Rayo Vallecano a couple of months ago when I was lucky enough to be there), it's the press that don't like him because he refuses to give daily press conferences and such like.

He has failed at Madrid in that he hasn't won the Champions League, but he ended Barca's dominance for a year and to be honest with a weaker squad than they have.

I'm with you and EnfieldYiddo in that I hope it goes tits up at Chelsea, but if Abramovich has learned that he lets Mourinho manage this time rather than meddle in team affairs I'm convinced he will make them triumph again. He will piss on Mancini that's for certain. Him and Ferguson always have good battles but if I was going to go for a winner I would pick Mourinho as well.

I just think calling him overrated as a manager, not a man, is heinous.

He's such a massive prick that it will make losing to the chavs even worse. The only thing that will make it somewhat bareable is if he wins fuck all, but with Hazard, Mata, Oscar and any potential signings he brings in (Alonso, Falcoa) the chavs will be a force to be reckoned with. It will be interesting if in his first season he finishes 3rd/4th and wins Fuck all. Will RA be patient?

I would love it if JM has a sudden change of heart after we beat the chavs and put them down to 5th place

Agree with the majority of points you made mate but this is my one qualm.

Surely you meant a weaker starting 11?

There's no way in hell Madrid had a weaker squad than Barcelona.

Heck, I'd even argue there's barely anything in the difference of starting 11's... The difference is Messi has been outperforming Ronaldo this year.

No I mean weaker squad, I don't just factor in a bunch of signings to make a strong squad, the Barca squad has mostly been together since the age of 16 or whatever it is (that's obviously an exaggeration but you know what I mean...), as a squad, where a team is coached to play in the same way from the age of 11, makes a stronger squad for me. Madrid spent more money, but that doesn't mean they are stronger to me.

I get what you mean about bonding but if Alba is injured, Barca bring in Adriano...

If Madrid have Marcelo injured; they bring in Coentrao.

I guess the point we're both making is Madrid are stronger/more talented on an individual squad basis but as a team/squad Barcelona are much more united and stronger.

Yeah pretty much, for me it certainly doesn't take anything away from Mourinho that he hasn't won the league this year.
