From the transfers in so far, with the money going on strongly attacking, quick mf's, it seems to me that Ramos is giving himself the tactical options of starting with either one or two (or maybe even three) up front depending on the demands of any particular game, without tying himself rigidly to 4-4-2/4-3-3/4-3-2-1 or anything else, and with 7 subs on the bench, giving himself the chance to change tactics mid-game if that's necessary.
If you bring GDS, Bentley and Modric into the mix with Berbatov, Bent (and maybe Pekhart), you've got a real variety of striking options. Add Pavylchenko (my choice) and/or Arshavin to that lot and you've completed the picture.
Personally, I'm wondering whether they're going to buy just one of either Arshavin or Pavylchenko regardless of whether Berbs stays/goes...and only shell out on both if Berbs in fact leaves. At the moment, I'd rather see an out-and-out striker like Pavylchenko come in rather than yet another attacking mf like Arshavin.
