I've been saying this for the past week, I'm not itk but it's been clear Chelsea tried it on with Sevilla by valuing Zouma at almost twice what he's worth Sevilla don't want him and Chelsea won't pay what they're asking. Without Zouma Chelsea have nothing to offer but wads of cash and they're going to need to pay big.
That fits, Zouma is much more just about West Ham level but notice the valuation, well less than what Chelsea were trying to sucker Sevilla with, Chelsea always try that on.
If he goes to West Ham Chelsea are not going to get away with a cut price bid for Kounde it's an arm and a leg no less.
Wrapped up in hours my arse.
I don't know that they've upped the price as much as disagreed with Chelsea's valuation of Zouma which, let's face it, was extortionate and basically Sevilla didn't fall for it. Sevilla themselves also put a high value on Sanchez, he's who they want, so Chelsea are sitting with nothing to offer but the riches of Smaug and Sevilla will want a pile of it.
Personally I think no Sanchez to Sevilla no Kounde to Chelsea not least because I'm not certain Chelsea think that highly of him, why would they pay a king's ransom to loan him out to another club.
This may well end up with Kounde's choices being between us and staying at Sevilla.

So in the next 6 days we have the Kane saga developing, hopefully announcing Romero, games against Chavski and the scum, and now this Kounde news. Can't see much work getting done.

He didn’t want to join us before our world class striker wanted to leave! Not sure why he’d change his mind now?

Chav fans on Twitter are saying the same we were saying about Romero. They can’t get the deal over the line

Imagine if Sanchez is the pivotal person in getting this done ?

Knowing Chelsea they are dragging us back into this just to piss us off somehow.

When JJ says assume what has changed I guess that means City will be putting in a huge Kane bid that is to our liking.

More likely there’s movement on Sanchez I would think. But still, the player has to want us over Chelsea, which he won’t. This could run on until the end of the window if that’s the case. Something we probably shouldn’t get drawn into.

Edit: just seen the goat’s post. Sounds like that’s it then. One to watch I suspect rather than look forward to.

We're effectively back to where we were when the player wanted to wait in case a cl club came in for him preferably Real Madrid. Chelsea nibbled but haven't bitten so as it stands he has no cl club interested, certainly not one that values him very highly anyway. The one difference now is that we have a super shiny new CB to partner him in what could be the most formidable defensive pair in the Premier League.
