I reckon a cheeky bid to QPR for Cesar may not be out of the question. He would cost less than Parker, in wages and transfer I reckon we could pick him up for E3m.
He is 34 years old when the window closes, and this is his last World Cup. Maybe we can loan him out for half a season to Palace or Fulham, as he would get more games under his belt. But with a fair contingent of Brazilians here already and maybe one or 2 more on the way Scolari will be watching us regularly, I would hope he would stay and play all the Cup competitions and get his profile up that way.
'arry is desperate to get him off the wage bill, Arse are messing about, he would improve them like mad. And could put a dent in their top 4 challenge....
We have serious competition for places all over the pitch now, barring a better striker, (to compete with Soldado) LB , CB...and Gk cover
Brad is 8 1/2 years older than him! If god forbid anything happened to LLoris at least he would do a seriously good job!

He isn't a bad keeper but if we are going to bring in a 3rd choice or even a back up ahead if Friedal, which I think we need, they would have to be British to fill the 8 player quota.

I managed to drop a huge deuce a few moments ago and I did that all on my own. Didn't need a former athlete to give me any advice.

well at least you can crap on your own...

a discussion between a couple of old friends where one is probably still a world authority on the subject matter is a tad different

Most of the time. But I appreciate your support.

I think the issue some people have is not necessarily Cesar's ability, but rather his ego and having it disrupt the harmony. Massaging the new and old personalities is going to take some effort. Adding Cesar would require even more when you could stick with a Friedel or Cudacini type that knows him role.

Does Ceasar even want to be a backup?

Friedel great keeper that he was, is way too old at 42 to be playing full time for spurs. If god forbid Lloris got injured then we would be stuffed.I think Gomes who I liked has had his confidence shot
Stating the obvious, Cesar is at an age 34 where he is still a great keeper but his career is now on a downward trajectory his price tag is c3m euros. He will just about make this world cup.
He speaks Portuguese we already have 3 Brazilians at the club, so he know that Scolari will be watching him.
He has won just about everything in the game, is a great senior pro, and would give LLoris some real competition for his place ..not a bad thing! after all we want competition for places everywhere on the pitch don't we?
If nobody buys him he is stuck in the Championship, with QPR.
Wenger may not come in for him because of his age. We are actually not a bad option as his wife and kids are settled in London. He can play all the cups and the europa games could be circa 25 games... not bad!
Cudicini played back up to Cech from a younger age!

Why would the brazilian no.1 come to us and sit on the bench behind lloris during a world cup year in his own country, bear in mind the last time he wasnt playing regular football it looked like it was the end of a era for him

All solid points, but again, does he even want to be a backup? And in a WC year in his home country, as someone else mentioned.

Locked until the day that Terry Venables becomes a national newspaper or sporting website.

Could be a while.
