No team ever achieved top four or the league title off the back of a January signing did they?

I don't think one January signing can ever guarantee any short term goal, or even make it more likely.

If Poch doesn't want to bring in a player then that's that. Matter over.

For the sake of all that's holy.

If you bothered to check the ITK thread you'll find plenty of posts stating that Poch wasn't interested in Charlie Austin.

Poch. Our manager. Who is building the squad.

Was not interested in Austin.

1) He apparently has an attitude problem so could upset the squad harmony
2) He apparently wanted £100k a week so on a five year deal that £4mill becomes about £30mill
3) If players like Kane see a player with half the talent he has earning that much money he's going to want to be earning a lot more than he currently is, in which case that £30mill escalates even more.

It was before January windows existed, but Cantona did join United from Leeds (remember them?!) at the end of November. Their form rapidly turned around, and they ended up winning the first Prem title.

I get your point though, however I think a new striker would be very helpful for the rest of the season.

Yes , I do check the " Kane's Back up" about 20 times a day ;) and i am quite sad to see that you are all happy with the current situation
You are entitled to your opinion but why not post there, starting a new thread isn't going to make people agree with you :)

I do not know about "off the back of a January signing" but Arsenal with Monreal and now Elneny certainly try to fill needs in January. I can't think of a top four side that had only one striker. Ever. But I do agree that at the end of the day it is up to Poch. I find it difficult to believe that behind closed doors he isn't concerned about having only one viable striker. I think he is just refusing the Levy Special of Frasier Campbell and Louis Saha.

Lol I swear this forum...

Levy buys players the manager didn't want = Levy's shit and has no ambition

Levy doesn't buy players the manager didn't want = Levy's shit and has no ambition

And again this is the ONLY season we have a real chance at getting in the top four... I am pretty sure I have heard that for the last 5 seasons.

N'Jie (admittedly injured for the next month or so) is also a forward and someone we spent north of £10m on. He should be able to contribute.

Austin is reportedly on 80 000 a week. Four times what Dele Alli is on. Almost double of what Kane is on.

Bringing him in would probably fuck up our entire wage structure.

Along with the fact that he's a player Poch doesn't want.

Oh you didn't hear, in his 6 appearances some people have already made up their mind on him.

I didn't create a new thread make people agree with me.
I created a new thread to give my point of view and to have the ones of other Spurs fans.

It's the same every January - this is our best chance to get into the Top 4 so we HAVE TO ACT NOW etc... etc...

Charlie Austin is so obviously not a Poch-type signing, and if he is on 100k a week then he's best avoided.

We can post all we like about what we should and shouldn't be doing, who we should and shouldn't be buying, but let's face it, if 95% of the armchair managers/chairmen on here (and I include myself in this) were given control of Spurs for a five-year period, we'd all be looking forward to a bankruptcy hearing and a highest league position of 16th.

NJie played as a winger in Lyon. Not as a centre forward.

Think you need to chill out. Window hasn't closed yet and we have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. Wait until the window closes before the doom and gloom starts.
