Can't disagree to be honest. Apart from 2 or 3 solid(ish) games he's looked like a weak link (though Jan hasn't exactly been fantastic either)

I don't understand the hate vlad gets sometimes. I'd say he's a lot like fazio in the sense that you can be sure that he'll do something stupid at least once during a game that could cost us.

Fazio is a lot better in air, no doubt, though I've seen vlad do some great stuff with the ball at his feet, albeit risky, that fazio simply can't do.

They're both prone to major concentration lapses but I prefer vlad because he's a bit nuts, plus he did ok last season I thought.

Nice to see the usual reasoned responses on here Although Fazio has been outstanding in the air, he has been error-prone too. However, the only way to build a strong partnership is for them to continue to play together to develop their understanding of how they both play.

The stats don't lie though and our results generally have been good with our current CB partnership, so we should definitely persist with them.

It couldn't be because Fazio's actually made quite a few defensive errors, could it?

I feel quite sorry for Dier, has he even had a chance in his normal CB position yet? It's not like Jan or Fazio have been undroppable.

Fazio's been ok. Very good in some respects and very dodgy in others.

For a 28 year old defender bought to come in to the first team, you'd expect slightly better (e.g.Woodgate ).

He's still adjusting to the Premier League of course, but he's certainly not made that position his own yet.

Fazio has done well, finally there's stability in the back line. He's never going to be the quickest and in a couple of years Dier may be the better player. While Dier develops we need someone who can do a job and Fazio is doing that.
