Impressed in his pre-season games. It seems now, for the first time in many years, have enough quality centre-backs in our squad.

Top 5 possible, but top 4 is a must, although it's very hard to reach. Come on Kevin, show us your rockness on defend!

Both Manchester clubs, Chelsea Arsenal and Liverpool have spent big whilst we have bought three defenders. Much as I hate to say it, we will have to rely on team work and excellent coaching as well as some good home grown talent to try to compete with the big 5. I believe 6th place is likely but hope for more.

The thing is, for the first time in years. we haven't lost a single squad member who could be remotely described as valuable. Added to which, we can also harbour legitimate aspirations that several younger squad members will improve this year as part of their development. Combine both with the signings we have made and the greater cohesion we can expect in the manager's second season, and then contrast the result with what has happened at the clubs who have spent big. I think it makes the coming season tantalising and very difficult to predict for Spurs.

Yep. I think spending big is another game altogether. I like to think the club holds its nerve re. young players/growing players. Two roads diverged in a wood and we took the one least travelled, or whatever. Let's hope this will make all the difference.

Sadly we don't have the cash to get someone like Kompany or Stones so we need to buy players who are younger. If we buy the right ones they can become top players in a few seasons. Kane and Eriksen will make it, and I think Bentaleb, Dier and Mason can become top players too in a couple of years. If the likes of Wimmer, Lamela and Pritchard can make that step as well then we'll have a team to compete with anyone.
