I took mine when he was seven (as you can see in my avatar) and he had no interest in football, but I had to get him to the old WHL before it came down. He has a little more interest now but still little compared to me at that age, by which time I must have been over 30 times, fed on the team of Hoddle, Ardiles et al.
Funny but it brings me to a thought I had last night.
Imagine being a Gooner (shudder) and taking your kid to their first game last night, comforted by the fact you are playing nobodies and your child will see your team win comfortably and forever be a Gooner (shudder) , and making them watch that load of donkey turd.
They are gonna be devastated when their kids ask for Kane shirts for their birthday.
Same for my boy. He's 10, or is he 11, who knows, around that age. Taken him to around 5 games, but he has absolutely no interest. Watches youtube on my phone for most of the match. Had choice seats for Liverpool, quality game, wasted on the lad. Sadly when i force him to be interested he just asks me inane questions about everything going on in the match, which is bloody distracting and annoying. Kids can't live with them.....
Finally i accepted his desicion with the proviso that if he ever took an interest in football he only support spurs. Anyone else and he has no father. Hard but Fair. I'm releasing a new book on fatherhood if anyone's interested pm me.
