This ain't good if we are without Dawson. King and Woodgate for the start of the season. Terrible news. Only Charlie and Dervitte as CBs. Chimbona can play there as well which is okay. This is where we could've done with Zokora. He was very good cover at CB. Let's hope Harry can get somebody in, maybe somebody on loan. Maybe Real Madrid will be willing to loan us Garay or Metzelder.

Naybet was a terrific signing, he brught the best out of King. We definately need somebody like him to come in.

I'm not going to panic just yet. Ledley never plays pre season anyway, so hopefully he will be ok for the start of the season. If Dawson's is 'just' a scrape down the achilles, hopefully he'll be ok too. Woody is a real problem. We may have 'cover' but 'cover' isn't like for like. Much as I love Charlie, I don't feel as confident when he's playing CB. Even less so with Hud. Anyone we buy now will be more expensive as they will know we're desperate.
I'm hoping Harry is just being canny and overplaying our injuries.

Thinking abut it it wasn't the best idea to reveal our central defender injury crisis as it will only add value to potential signings when we enquire. I know that when they wouldn't play tomorrow the uestion will be asked but Harry should have said that its not a problem and that he expected to have at least 2 fit for the start of the season

Now the likes of Newcastle will add another 4m to Bassong for example

Anyone alarmed by the fact Arry said CB wasnt an area we were looking to strengthen!? Love Daws' heart but dont fancy him having to play against any top 6 team.

Hoping King and Woody will stay fit is suicide. Quality CB is a must, and a starting CB not just cover. Wud have been top of my priority list, with 2 More RB's bottom.

Well look on the bright side, we'll get to see Dorian "One-T" Dervite play in some matches which, while not actually competitive, will be matches we're trying to win, and against quality opposition.

Has anyone said that King can't play at the beginning of the season, and more than he can't play very often in general? A back 4 of BAE-King-Coruka-Hutton is not so bad. Even if King is partnered by someone else (Dervite or Chimbonda I suppose). The problem is in the second game of each week...our central defence with neither King nor Woodgate playing has rarely shined. Hence we need as someone mentioned a new Naybet, one whose name doesn't start with C.

I'm not Dawson's biggest fan and I half expect Woodgate and King to break down at any moment so i'm not surprised by the news.

I think we'll start with Naughton Corluka Chimbonda Ekotto

Doesn't look too good on paper. Another poor start to the season. I can feel it in my bones.

its all very simple.chimbonda was brought back because in 'arrys words he can cover all back four positions so its chimbonda and charlie at centre back and hutton at right back.
