Manolas is class imo, will end up at the Scum for a bargain fee while we fuck about thinking about buying players.

Only if Musacchio deal falls through but looks a quality young centre back indeed.

I usually steer of clear of touting a relative unknown because it's very easy to come across as one of those "opinions courtesy of Football Manager" gobshites basing their opinions on nothing of any relevance - but I've seen Manolas play six or seven times in the past year in the Champions League and the World Cup and he has been absolute class every time.

He's very quick for a centre back, strong, decent technically but without overplaying and seems like he reads the game well (although that's something that's more difficult to judge over a small sample of matches), more or less the complete package of what you'd look for in a centre back.

From what I've seen of him he would be a very good signing, one to get really excited about. For some reason I thought he had signed for Dortmund earlier this summer so this is a pleasant surprise indeed.

8 million pounds is a steal considering we sold Caulker for 9 million plus a sell-on percentage.

Plays for the other team i support, Olympiacos

i'd be happy for Spurs to get him and unhappy for Olympiacos to lose him :D

he's a very promising player, fast and powerful..........i think technically he can improve with better coaching but he would be a great player for us

He's been linked to (IIRC) Juventus, Bayern and Arsenal this summer which underlines that he's a promising player indeed.

Maybe one to watch if Chiriches is moved on, either on loan or permanent.

Chiriches has everything needed to be a top defender other than the knowledge that he's playing in defence. If someone taught the dozy plum not to try to skin people when there's no one but the goalkeeper behind him he could be great.

Kaboul used to do that as well. Our defenders, eh, they're either trying to hoof it or run with it.

Couple of years ago, Kaboul was so confident and powerful that he would just brush aside challenges when he ran with the ball. Really hope that he can return to that form.

He's looked commanding in preseason ... won every header I saw him go for, unlike Dawson who looked lost.

that is the real stat too as we were informed recently. 100% aerial duels won. dawson is weak at only 96%. i doubt manolas would do more than 95%, he is a hack.

:cautious:

I don't know much about him, but I have only heard good things. Maybe worth a look with Musacchio deal hung up and getting more expensive every week.

If the Musacchio deal is too complex to complete, I really hope this lad is next on the list.
